The Effects of Consumer Demographics and Payment Method Preference on Product Return Frequency and Reasons in Online Shopping
2021
In online shopping, product returns are very common. In order to reduce them, one must first understand who are making them and why are they being made. In this study, we aim to address these questions by examining product return behaviour from a consumer-centric rather than the more traditional product-centric, retailer-centric, and order-centric perspectives. More specifically, we focus on the effects of four demographic characteristics of consumers (i.e., gender, age, education, and income) as well as their payment method preference on their product return frequency and product return reasons. As the data, we use the responses from 560 Finnish online consumers, which were collected with …

Stakeholder perceptions of wood-based products in the built environment : a literature review
2022
Current global environmental challenges, such as climate change, set an urge to seek renewable low-emission alternatives to substitute fossil fuel-derived products while transitioning towards circular bioeconomy. Wood has proven to be a versatile renewable material that is able to substitute fossil-based materials. However, the market potential and uptake of wood-based products is also dependent on the preferences of consumers and other stakeholder groups. This paper presents a systematic literature review of studies examining stakeholder perceptions of wood-based products, which also resulted in the identification of research gaps and suggestions for future research directions. The results…
Áreas protegidas e urbanização : o caso da APA da ilha do Combú, Belém-PA
2020
The paper seeks to answer two questions: what is the influence of the geographical location of the island of Combú in the metropolitan area of Belém, PA, and whether its current status as an Area of Environmental Protection (APA) has any impact on biodiversity and socioeconomic development? Similar to other riverside areas in the Amazon, Combú has a long history of involvement in the trade of extractive products. However, its geographical proximity to Belém and consequent access to markets made producers less dependent on intermediaries, while the ownership of resources was based on independent family units. Therefore, the dominant mode of caboclo extractivism, together with limited access …
Look closer to see further : exploring environmental life cycle management, LCM
2006
Product life cycle management, LCM, is an emerging concept describing the efforts to study and develop the environmental efficiency of product life cycles. Its definitions vary and the understanding on its goal and related activities also affect the possible outcomes. The purpose of this study is to explore what is LCM and what are the related activities. The research related to corporate environmental management often relies on realist assumptions and technology-based views. These often fail to grasp the factors related to social interaction, subjective experiences and understanding that may be crucial in advancing environmental considerations in companies, and therefore a phenomenological…
