Tässä artikkelissa tarjoamme autoetnografisen katsauksen kahteen soveltavaa kielentutkimusta ja korkeakoulututkimusta yhdistelevään tutkimusprojektiin, jotka molemmat olivat pitkän, osittain varsin fokuksettoman prosessin tulosta. Näiden kahden projektin avulla esittelemme ja pohdimme sitä, miten projektit saivat alkunsa, miten ne etenivät ja miten niiden ydin kirkastui vasta useiden kollegoiden kanssa käytyjen keskusteluiden, prokrastinoinnin ja muuttuneiden suunnitelmien jälkeen – molemmissa tapauksissa lähempänä tutkimusprosessin loppua kuin sen alkua. Kuusi vuotta on kulunut siitä, kun Jyväskylän yliopisto siirtyi julkaisutietojen keskitettyyn tallentamiseen. Aiemmin hajautetusti tutkijoiden omasta toimesta tapahtunut CRIS-kirjaamistyö siirrettiin kirjaston (nyk. Avoimen tiedon keskus, OSC) vastuulle niin, että tutkijat itse eivät kirjauksia enää tee, vaan niistä huolehtii OSC. Syntyi "JYU-malli". The past decade has experienced an increase in the number of studies on organizational space or where work occurs. A number of these studies challenge traditional views of organizational space as a fixed, physical workspace because researchers fail to account for the spatial dynamics that they observe. New technologies, shifting employee-employer relations, and burgeoning expectations of the contemporary workforce blur boundaries between home and work, connect people and things that historically could not be linked, and extend workspaces to nearly everywhere, not just office buildings. Tämän gradun aiheena ovat maakuntalehtien aamupalaverit. Lähestyn aihetta kahdesta näkökulmasta. Toisaalta tutkin aamupalavereita osana journalistista työprosessia. Pyrin kartoittamaan, millainen rooli aamupalavereilla on toimitusten työpäivässä, mitä aamupalavereissa tapahtuu ja kuinka tärkeinä aamupalavereita pidetään. Toisessa näkökulmassa tutkin aamupalavereita portinvartijuuden näkökulmasta. Portinvartijateoria on kiinnostunut niistä henkilöistä, prosesseista ja tapahtumista, jotka päättävät, mitkä asiat pääsevät julkisuuteen. Changing the ownership of ideas: Multimedial accomplishment of collaborative reflection in an organizational workshop

Reflecting on work processes together with one's co-workers is becoming increasingly important in workplaces. This study examined collaborative reflection in the organizational context through analyzing a case of a complex workplace setting where an enterprise social media platform, talk-in-interaction, and handwriting were used to engage participants in the process of reflection. Drawing on the concept of remediation, the results show that collaborative reflection is interactionally accomplished through a multimedial activity chain, in which the ownership of presented ideas is transformed from individual ideas into shared views of the team. Pro gradu -työssäni tutkin lehden työprosesseja ja lehtikonseptissa ilmeneviä ongelmia ja analysoin, millaisiin journalistisessa työssä ja journalismissa tapahtuneisiin muutoksiin ne kytkeytyvät. Tutkimuskohteenani on erään järjestölehden kehittämishanke ja lehtikonseptiuudistus. Aineisto on peräisin Taideteollisen korkeakoulun tutkimus- ja kehittämishankkeesta, joka järjestettiin järjestölehdessä vuosina 2008–2009. Lehden levikki oli ollut jo usean vuoden ajan laskussa, joten lehtikonsepti päätettiin uudistaa. Navigating organizational workspace is often plagued with tensions that emerge from the interplay of intended designs with organizational activities and lived experiences. These tensions are evident in research findings, such as inconsistencies in the ways that employees react to new workplace designs. They call on scholars to rethink organizational space, not as a concrete, static, or ready-made ‘thing’, but as a set of ongoing performances that enact particular practices, clashes among opposites, and organizational tensions.
