Abstract Behavioral factors play a fundamental role in preventing occupational injuries and accidents. Previous studies have shown that engagement in safety behavior is influenced by workers’ safety motivation. However, understanding of the cognitive factors that contribute to safety motivation is lacking. This report gives an overview of the Con3Post project1 research that analyses a new and understudied phenomenon of posting third country nationals (TCNs) in the European construction sector, with a special focus on the posting flow involving workers from Ukraine being posted to Finland and Estonia through Poland. The research highlights severe regulatory challenges related to the phenomenon. These include posted TCNs being exposed to multiple vulnerabilities that are even more extreme than intra-European Union (EU) posted workers are usually exposed to. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin kansainvälisen autoalan organisaation yhden Suomen yksikön työhyvinvoinnin tilaa. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää työhyvinvoinnin käsitteiden sekä siihen liittyvien tekijöiden, kuten esimiestyö ja tiedonkulku kautta, miten työhyvinvointi on kohdeorganisaatiossa otettu huomioon. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin marras- joulukuussa 2015 haastattelemalla kohdeorganisaation työntekijöitä. Haastateltavat tutkimukseen valittiin käyttämällä harkitsevaa otantaa. In the name of security : Governmentality apparatus in a multilingual mine in Arctic Finland

This critical sociolinguistic study explores how mining work is governed in the name of security in a mine in Arctic Finland. Although the mining industry is dominated by multinational corporations, mines themselves tend to be concentrated in peripheries where a mobile and multilingual workforce is recruited. Mining is a high-risk business: industrial accidents and environmental damage can be severe. Discursive practices play a crucial role in risk management. "Opi vaarat väistämään, tapaturmat välttämään" : Tampellan Heinolan tehtaiden työturvallisuus 1960-luvulla

Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena on selvittää miten Tampellan Heinolan tehtailla huolehdittiin työturvallisuudesta 1960-luvulla, aikana, jolloin työtapaturmien määrä kasvoi Suomessa voimakkaasti. Itse asiassa kuusikymmentäluvulla sattui työtapaturmia enemmän kuin koskaan aiemmin. Vuosien 1961–1968 aikana työtapaturmissa loukkaantui vuosittain keskimäärin 172 000 ihmistä. Eniten tapaturmia sattui tehdasteollisuudessa. Heinolan tehtaiden, toisin sanoen Heinolan flutingtehtaan työturvallisuuden lisäksi tutkielmassa kartoitetaan niitä tapoja, joilla työnantaja pyrki vaikuttamaan työntekijöiden työturvallisuusasenteisiin ja -käytäntöihin ja sitä, miten työantajat tavat toimivat.
