AbstractoEste estudio analiza la frecuencia de grupos entonativos con disminución prosódica y atenuación pragmática en tres géneros discursivos del español: la conversación coloquial, la entrevista televisiva y el monólogo humorístico. En total, se han recogido 3365 grupos entonativos, de los que 237 han manifestado valores reducidos fónicamente; el criterio de discriminación ha sido que los valores de velocidad elocutiva, rango tonal o intensidad se distancien 1.65 desviaciones típicas de la media del hablante. Los datos indican que entre un 15 y un 20% de grupos entonativos por género utilizan disminuciones prosódicas y que, de ellos, la mitad corresponden a casos de atenuación pragmática…

[EN] This paper shows the results of two territorial diagnoses for employment and local development carried out in two rural regions of the province of Valencia. These diagnostics showed that these territories have abundant natural resources, but that lack of competent actors to dynamize them properly; either because they lack the means to do so (access to sources of financing, transport or basic infrastructure), or because they are not trained for it (aging population with lack of training), or because they do not have enough initiative (installed in a comfort zone).

Can copper(II) mediate Hoogsteen base-pairing in a left-handed DNA duplex? A pulse EPR study

Pulse EPR spectroscopy is sued to investigate possible structural features of the copper(II) ion coordinated to poly(dG-dC) poly(dG-dC) in a frozen aqueous solution, and the structural change of the polynucleotide induced by the presence of the metal ion. Two different copper species were identified and their geometry explained by a molecular model. According to this model, one species is exclusively coordinated to a single guanine with the N7 nitrogen atom forming a coordinative bond with the copper. In this work we study the impact of relinquishment and the adoption process in posttraumatic symptoms in a group of 55 adults that were adopted as children before 1970. The effects of institutionalization, maltreatment, traumatic revelation of the adopted status and stressful life events have also been studied. No significant differences were found between institutionalized and non-institutionalized adoptees in posttraumatic symptomatology. El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en estudiar si la posición de las letras se codifica de una forma absoluta o relativa, y en particular, conocer el papel que la sílaba juega en la codificación de la información posicional dentro de las representaciones ortográficas. Para ello, empleamos dos experimentos con una tarea de solución de anagramas. This article proposes a study of the traditions in defensive architecture that concurred in the projects designed by Spanish military engineers for the fortification of the Valencian frontier in 1648 and 1649, in the context of the War of Catalonia (1640-1652). For this it is essential to follow the route of the Valencian adaptations to the military revolution in the matter of fortifications throughout the sixteenth century and compare them with those brought to Valencia in 1641 by the Marquis of Leganes and his engineers from the school of Milan.
One repetition maximum bench press performance: A new approach for its evaluation in inexperienced males and females: A pilot study

Summary The aim of this study was to evaluate a new method to perform the one repetition maximum (1RM) bench press test, by combining previously validated predictive and practical procedures. Eight young male and 7 females participants, with no previous experience of resistance training, performed a first set of repetitions to fatigue (RTF) with a workload corresponding to 1/3 of their body mass (BM) for a maximum of 25 repetitions. Following a 5-min recovery period, a second set of RTF was performed with a workload corresponding to 1/2 of participants’ BM.
