Tämän tutkielman tarkoitus on selvittää ruotsinopettajien mielipiteitä englannin kielen vaikutuksesta ja asemasta yläkoulun ruotsinopetuksessa. Tutkielmassa keskitytään erityisesti siihen voiko ruotsinopettajien mielestä englantia hyödyntää myös ruotsin opettamisessa ja jos voi, niin miten. Lisäksi tutkielmassa selvitetään kokevatko ruotsinopettajat englannin resurssina vai uhkana ruotsin kielelle. Tutkielma on toteutettu kyselytutkimuksena keväällä 2015 ja siihen osallistui 30 ruotsinopettajaa. Addressing Complexity in Science|Environment|Health Pedagogy

This paper aims to discuss complexity as a key feature for understanding the role of science knowledge in environmental and health contexts—a central issue in Science|Environment|Health pedagogy. Complex systems are, in principle, not predictable. In different contexts, ephemeral mechanisms produce different, sometimes completely unexpected results. The art of decision-making in complex contexts is to take scientific knowledge into account but to interpret its meaning in terms of concrete complex contexts. Nykarleby är en av de tvåspråkiga kommunerna som våren 2017 erhöll statens specialunderstöd för att tidigarelägga språkundervisningen i finska. Finskundervisningen i staden tidigarelades år 2016 till årskurs 1 men denna har redan konstaterats vara otillräcklig i en starkt svenskspråkig miljö. Därför har man under läsåret 2017–2018 planerat Kielistigen, ett språkprogram med målsättningen att stärka den kommunikativa finskan genom att börja med barn i femårsåldern samt integrera språket som en naturlig del av verksamheten från småbarnspedagogiken till grundskolan där språket integreras i övrig undervisning. nonPeerReviewed

Since 2020, the teaching of the A1 language starts in grade 1. In order to study the shift to an earlier start to the teaching of the A1 language, a survey of the teaching of A1 languages in grade 1 was carried out with the focus on the most common A1 languages: Finnish in the Swedish-medium schools and English in the Finnish-medium schools. The article examines the teachers’ perceptions of starting the teaching of A1 languages in grade 1. The data consists of 644 answers to an online questionnaire, of which 94 apply to A1 Finnish and 550 to A1 English. Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää minkälaisena ruotsin kielen aineenopettajat kokevat oman roolinsa opettajana. Lähtökohtana oli vertailla yläasteen ja lukion opettajia ja ottaa selvää vaikuttaako se, millä asteella opettajat opettavat, heidän käsityksiinsä omasta roolistaan. Oletukseni ennen tutkimuksen suorittamista oli, että eroja löytyy ja yläasteen opettajat kokisivat itsensä enemmän kasvattajana ja lukion opettajien työssä vastaavasti korostuisi voimakkaasti tiedon välittämisen tehtävä.
