To investigate the hemispheric lateralization of attentional processes during visual search tasks depending on the stimulus material embedding the target, twelve patients with unilateral left (n = 7) or right (n = 5) parietal lesions and 20 age and education matched healthy controls (HC) were recruited. We used a visual search task for a uniquely tilted oblique bar embedded in an object shape 'N' or in its mirror reversal 'И'. The most selective disorder of central conceptual knowledge arises in semantic dementia, a degenerative condition associated with bilateral atrophy of the inferior and polar regions of the temporal lobes. Summary— Seventy-two patients with renal carcinoma (RC) in a solitary kidney or bilateral synchronous tumours underwent parenchyma-sparing excision of their neoplasms. This was performed in situin 51 and extracorporeally in 21 kidneys, with a complication rate respectively of 1 7 and 43%. The 5-year survival rates were 78% for unilateral disease, 48% for bilateral synchronous and 38% for bilateral asynchronous disease. Unconscious processing of Arabic numerals in unilateral neglect

This study explores the processing of Arabic numerals in three patients with dense left unilateral neglect. Three tasks have been used: a test of visual awareness (is the stimulus on the left, on the right or on both sides?), a number comparison task (is the number larger or smaller than 5?), a number parity judgment task (is the number odd or even?). The test of visual awareness indicated that all three patients were completely unaware of the stimuli presented in the left hemifield. We present a case series of 4 patients with a unilateral acoustic neuroma and increased amplitudes of the distortion products of otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) at the low- and middle- frequency bandwidth on the involved side compared to the uninvolved side despite a 28-dB hearing level (HL) worse (compared to the uninvolved side) pure-tone hearing threshold average for standard audiometric frequencies between 1 and 6 kHz at the involved side.
