Space-Efficient 1.5-Way Quantum Turing Machine

2001

1.5QTM is a sort of QTM (Quantum Turing Machine) where the head cannot move left (it can stay where it is and move right). For computations is used other - work tape. In this paper will be studied possibilities to economize work tape space more than the same deterministic Turing Machine can do (for some of the languages). As an example language (0i1i|i ≥ 0) is chosen, and is proved that this language could be recognized by deterministic Turing machine using log(i) cells on work tape , and 1.5QTM can recognize it using constant cells quantity.

Australia: An Inescapable Cultural Paradigm? Cross- and Transcultural Elements in Tim Winton’s Fiction

2016

The article considers Tim Winton’s fiction in terms of its cross- and transcultural character. Despite the fact that local Australian settings permeate the writer’s narratives, Winton creates an imaginary space that is both local and transnational in terms of its quality of the domestic culture, which Winton extends beyond its original field of practice. Winton achieves the transcultural quality of his fiction through transgressions and boundary breaking that are possible due to his frequent reworking of the traditional Australian themes and concepts of the unknown, supernatural, mystical, numinous and sacred, exploitation of leitmotifs of journey, transit and in-betweenness, use of cross-c…

Erosion of universal health coverage in Spain

2013

Whereas the recent UN resolution urges governments to accelerate progress towards universal access to affordable and quality health-care services, the Spanish Government, bypassing the parliamentary procedure, enacted a Royal Decree to limit access to free services at the point of delivery for all-undermining the principle of universal coverage. Spanish health and social service budgets have been subjected to large cuts (13,7% in 2012 and 16,2% in 2013) with some regions imposing additional budget cuts.

Algebraic (2, 2)-transformation groups

2009

This paper contains the more significant part of the article with the same title that will appear in the Volume 12 of Journal of Group Theory (2009). In this paper we determine all algebraic transformation groups $G$, defined over an algebraically closed field $\sf k$, which operate transitively, but not primitively, on a variety $\Omega$, provided the following conditions are fulfilled. We ask that the (non-effective) action of $G$ on the variety of blocks is sharply 2-transitive, as well as the action on a block $\Delta$ of the normalizer $G_\Delta$. Also we require sharp transitivity on pairs $(X,Y)$ of independent points of $\Omega$, i.e. points contained in different blocks.

International Cooperation in Criminal Matters between Spain and Latin America

2006

ABSTRACTFor some years now, Spain has been in the vanguard of the court battle against international crime, particularly since the Pinochet case. The country’s progressive legislation about universal justice and the interpretation of such principle by the Spanish Constitutional Tribunal in the Guatemalan case (and later, in the Falung Gong case) are the reasons behind its exceptional role in the application of International Criminal Law. However, the exercise of this right entitled to the victims, when directed against the citizens of one of the permanent U. N. Security Council country members, has precipitated a legal reform in the end. It is undeniable that these States, and particularly …

Crònica Universal de 1427. Estudi i edició

2019

A comprehensive analysis of Universal Soil Loss Equation-based models at the Sparacia experimental area

2020

Improving Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE)‐based models has large interest because simple and reliable analytical tools are necessary in the perspective of a sustainable land management. At first, in this paper, a general definition of the event rainfall‐ runoff erosivity factor for the USLE‐based models, REFₑ = (QR)ᵇ¹(EI₃₀)ᵇ², in which QR is the event runoff coefficient, EI₃₀ is the single‐storm erosion index, and b₁ and b₂ are coefficients, was introduced. The rainfall‐runoff erosivity factors of the USLE (b₁ = 0 and b₂ = 1), USLE‐M (b₁ = b₂ = 1), USLE‐MB (b₁ ≠ 1 and b₂ = 1), USLE‐MR (b₁ = 1 and b₂ ≠ 1), USLE‐MM (b₁ = b₂ ≠ 1), and USLE‐M2 (b₁ ≠ b₂ ≠ 1) can be defined using REFₑ. Then t…

Hamel-isomorphic images of the unit ball

2010

In this article we consider linear isomorphisms over the field of rational numbers between the linear spaces ℝ2 and ℝ. We prove that if f is such an isomorphism, then the image by f of the unit disk is a strictly nonmeasurable subset of the real line, which has different properties than classical non-measurable subsets of reals. We shall also consider the question whether all images of bounded measurable subsets of the plane via a such mapping are non-measurable (© 2010 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
