To the best of our knowledge, it is not evident in the literature how the engagement between universities and their stakeholders proceeds on the social media platforms particularly from a developing country perspective. Despite the fact that fake degrees have been used since the creation of legitimate diplomas, the fake degrees business is reaching epidemic proportions, notably because of globalization, new information and communication technologies and “diploma race”. We define the concept of fake degrees and distinguish different kinds of fakes. We also indicate the main functions of diplomas in the economic literature. Abstract The Intellectual Capital of a firm is the sum total of its Human Capital, Structural Capital and Relational Capital. These assets form a source of distinct competitive advantage and distinguish the performance of one firm from the other. Some organizations appear to continue relying on traditional resources for wealth creation but they should increase their attention towards a greater reliance on intellectual capital factors. This study attempts to investigate the role of intellectual capital in nowadays modern organizations and in particular, its relevance for education institutions such as universities.

This article deals with gender differences in Italian universities in the last 20 years in terms of career advancements. Data are taken from the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) archive. In Italy, career advancements are still much easier for men, even if the gender gap has slowly narrowed in the last decades. The article presents the field of study German in Law and Economy leaded by the Institute of German Philology at the University of Opole. Based on the results of a survey, the paper illustrates students’ and alumni’ views and opinions about the study program. The presented feedback could serve as an instrument of evaluation and as a mean of a creative cooperation between academic centers and the local enterprises. Both of the sectors have an important task: to contribute to a sustainable development of the region.
