L'analyse fractale, un nouvel outil pour l'analyse spatiale des agglomérations urbaines
1997
The fractal approach. A new tool for the spatial analysis of urban agglomerations. Fractal geometry is a new approach for the study of spatial distributions. The basic model is a law of hierarchical distribution corresponding to Pareto's law which is familiar to urban geographers and demographers. The methods of fractal analysis can be used to study the spatial organization of human activities across scales. The regularities and the discontinuities in the distributions can then be identified. These discontinuities can be spatially situated. Applying this concept to urbanized areas has shown that districts can be defined and classified according to their scaling relations, thereby allowing d…
Modélisation de l'exposition au bruit en milieu urbain et études épidémiologiques : quelles sources sonores ?
2009
National audience; Epidemiological studies on noise in urban areas are mostly based on a modelling approach which only focuses on noise sources related to transportation and industries. Additional sources are likely to influence the ambient noise level, but the spatio-temporal influence they could have is rarely studied. The objective of this study is to identify urban noise sources that could improve environmental noise prediction and to quantify their respective contributions. An acoustic measurement campaign was conducted in frontage of 44 dwellings located on the city of Besancon (France). Measurements were compared to noise levels predictions produced from different noise maps in which…
Vitesse, accessibilité et étalement urbain ; analyse et application à l'aire urbaine dijonnaise
2003
The set of themes of the city is approached primarily by the means of the residential density. This concept is analyzed from a purely conceptual point of view, then more theoretical (thus making use of rather traditional econometric models: Clark, Newling) for finally being applied to the agglomeration dijonnaise like with its urban surface. One releases the great urban structures thus revealing an intermediate city between the model monocentric and polycentric. The two components are analyzed successively starting from the concept of residential density. Taking as assumption that the cities are dynamic, the second stage is that of urban sprawl out. A first introductory approach attempts to…
Modélisation des objets historiques selon la fonction, l'espace et le temps pour l'étude des dynamiques urbaines dans la longue durée
2010
The proposed principle for understanding the urban fabric is based on considering the town as a set of complex objects, taking a systemic approach. The town system used to study the urban fabric over large time spans is composed of three sub-systems relating to historical objects from the level of the excavation to that of the former urban space: function (social use), space (location, surface area and morphology) and time (dating, duration and chronology). The historical object is the analytical unit of the space studied. The purposed model allows urban changes to be observed. The originality of this procedure lies in its approach whereby it is possible to start not from the mapping of a p…

Las trayectorias habitacionales de los residentes suburbanos
2017
The suburban housing is a privileged urban form by French households for several decades. Nevertheless, the suburban residential trajectories are diversified and involve a population which is not less heterogeneous. From the literature and our field work, this contribution returns on the interests of residential trajectories approach and highlights the factors which connect the set of the inhabitants who, at one time or another of their trajectory, opted for this type of individual housing. Leaning on some discriminating variables (social, occupational, economic, life cycle…), a typology of suburban will come to conclude this article.
Projet SOFT
2020
