2021
This book is part of a broader study into new migration experiences and, in particular, that of young migrants who have recently arrived in Italy via the Mediterranean route. Gramsci e la recensione a New Schools in the Old World
2019

Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging in Turner syndrome.
2012
Background: Adolescents with Turner Syndrome (TS) live a difficulty related to the prospective to have spontaneous pubertal development and menarche as well as to their future fertility. These questions have relevant psychological-therapeutic implications on clinical and endocrine follow-up and represent critical points in the TS management. Some patients have spontaneous menarche and do not need estroprogestinic replacement in the first years of adolescence. This evolution is not always predictable on the basis of hormonal pattern and echographic imaging, while it is described in patients with mosaicism. Methods: We studied 17 patients with TS, age: 9-16 years, caryotype 45,X in 9 patients…

Two cases of intra-pericardic dissection in Turner's syndrome women
2011
Turner's syndrome is a genetic partial or complete monosomy of sexual chromosome X; therefore women affected by Turner's syndrome have 45 (XO) caryotype. The authors introduce two cases of deceased women affected by Turner's syndrome caused by intrapericardic dissection of the ascending aorta.

Q fever is a zoonotic disease caused by C. burnetii. Common reservoirs of this worldwide disease are wild and domestic animals, especially sheep, goats, cattle. The aims of this study were to estimate C. burnetii spread in Sicilian livestock and among rangers that live and work in Western Sicily. ELISA test on animal serum and IFI test on seasonal rangers sera were carried out. Real Time PCR was performed on milk and vaginal swab samples collected from animals to search for the C. burnetii DNA. The …
