Towards Efficient Control of Mobile Network-Enabled UAVs

In particular, a downlink scenario is considered, in which control messages are sent to UAVs via cellular base stations (BSs). Unlike terrestrial user equipment (UEs), UAVs perceive a large number of BSs, which can lead to increased interference causing poor or even unacceptable throughput. Combining Supervised and Unsupervised Learning to Discover Emotional Classes

Most previous work in emotion recognition has fixed the available classes in advance, and attempted to classify samples into one of these classes using a supervised learning approach. In this paper, we present preliminary work on combining supervised and unsupervised learning to discover potential latent classes which were not initially considered. To illustrate the potential of this hybrid approach, we have used a Self-Organizing Map (SOM) to organize a large number of Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from subjects watching videos, according to their internal structure. This exploratory pilot study shows that NGO's involved in Children Advocacy through Arts in Africa are willing to use a groupware, meaning a computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL) environment. Innovative ideas and best practices among NGOs would be shared easily worldwide. Little scientific information is available to help them make a sound choice. Enhancing HSUPA system level performance with dual carrier capability

The purpose of this paper is to analyze how dual carrier capability can enhance High Speed Uplink Packet Access performance in comparison to using only single carrier. Dual carrier operation gives the User Equipment the possibility to transmit simultaneously using two 5 MHz bands, theoretically doubling the peak data rates and user throughput. The analysis is conducted with a system level simulation tool. This paper first indicates with single carrier simulations that, especially in small cells, terminals have spare power available for dual carrier operation. ViziQuer: A Visual Notation for RDF Data Analysis Queries

Visual SPARQL query notations aim at easing the RDF data querying task. At the current state of the art there is still no generally accepted visual graph-based notation suitable to describe RDF data analysis queries that involve aggregation and subqueries. In this paper we present a visual diagram-centered notation for SPARQL select query formulation, capable to handle aggregate/statistics queries and hierarchic queries with subquery structure. The notation is supported by a web-based prototype tool. We present the notation examples, describe its syntax and semantics and describe studies with possible end users, involving both IT and medicine students.
