Argumentation graphs with constraint-based reasoning for collaborative expertise

2018

International audience; Collaborative processes are very important in telemedicine domain since they allow for making right decisions in complex situations with multidisciplinary staff. When modelling these collaborative processes, some inconsistencies can appear. In semantic modelling (conceptual graphs), these inconsistencies are verified using constraints. In this work, collaborative processes are represented using an argumentation system modelled in a conceptual graph formalism where inconsistencies could be particular bad attack relation between arguments. To overcome these inconsistencies, two solutions are proposed. The first one is to weight the arguments evolving in the argumentati…

Moderating influence of organizational justice on the relationship between job insecurity and its outcomes: A multilevel analysis

2010

A great amount of research has illustrated the evident prevalence of job insecurity in working life and its harmful outcomes for employees and organizations. Some authors have identified factors that can reduce this negative influence. However, up until now, most of these factors have only been studied at an individual level, without taking into account the fact that contextual conditions can play a moderating role in organizations. Following this perspective, this article analyses the moderator role of organizational justice and organizational justice climate in the relationship between job insecurity and its outcomes. The study was carried out with a sample of 942 employees from 47 Spanis…

Il diritto europeo e la «giustizia contrattuale»

2015

The essay deals with the issue of « contractual justice » in light of European private law. The author reports the extreme variety of problems brought under the formula « contractual justice » and tries to propose a definition of the notion, restricting it to the legal institutions that allow for judicial review of the contractual relationship, in view of its rebalancing. The most intricate issue concerns the conditions under which these forms of intervention, moreover very heterogeneous, can be accomplished. The paper analyzes the main opinions that range from the concepts of procedural justice to that of substantive justice, proposing a reading that goes beyond the procedural conceptions.

Reliable Planar Object Pose Estimation in Light Fields From Best Subaperture Camera Pairs

2018

International audience; A light-field camera can obtain richer information about a scene than a usual camera. This property offers a lot of potential for robot vision. In this paper, we present a method for pose estimation of a planar object with a light-field camera. The light-field camera can be regarded as a set of sub-aperture cameras. Although any combination of them can theoretically be used for the pose estimation, the accuracy depends on the combination. We show that the estimated pose error can be reduced by selecting the best pair of sub-aperture cameras. We have evaluated the accuracy of our approach with real experiments using a light-field camera in front of planar targets held…

Convergence of Markovian Stochastic Approximation with discontinuous dynamics

2016

This paper is devoted to the convergence analysis of stochastic approximation algorithms of the form $\theta_{n+1} = \theta_n + \gamma_{n+1} H_{\theta_n}({X_{n+1}})$, where ${\left\{ {\theta}_n, n \in {\mathbb{N}} \right\}}$ is an ${\mathbb{R}}^d$-valued sequence, ${\left\{ {\gamma}_n, n \in {\mathbb{N}} \right\}}$ is a deterministic stepsize sequence, and ${\left\{ {X}_n, n \in {\mathbb{N}} \right\}}$ is a controlled Markov chain. We study the convergence under weak assumptions on smoothness-in-$\theta$ of the function $\theta \mapsto H_{\theta}({x})$. It is usually assumed that this function is continuous for any $x$; in this work, we relax this condition. Our results are illustrated by c…

The Ivorian Constitutional Council and the supremacy of the Constitution. : study in light of his decisions and opinions

2018

Ivorian constitutional justice, in its current form, is the fruit of the democratization movement launched on the continent from the 1990s. But if elsewhere the exercise of constitutional review immediately became an essential instrument in the effectiveness of the Constitution and the advent of the rule of law, in Côte d'Ivoire, the guarantee of the the Constitution’s supremacy has evolved continuously at an oscillatory rhythm. The constitutionality check is first expressed through a strategy of small steps. The constitutional judge's choice of a narrow interpretation of his attributions produces a daring case law geared towards legitimizing the executive power and its governance. Subseque…

Making Communication Strategy Choices in a Fast Evolving Crisis Situation—Results from a Table-Top Discussion on an Anthrax Scenario

2016

This paper aims at clarifying a timely topic of how communication strategy choices are made in evolving, complex crises, such as those caused by terrorism involving chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) agents. This is done by examining data gathered from a table-top discussion among crisis communication experts, focusing on a scenario of an anthrax attack and analysed qualitatively. The communication experts followed the evolving crisis situation by gathering inputs from various actors in the crisis management network, thereby creating situational understanding, and interpreted these inputs for decision-making on communication strategies. The underlying process of coping wi…

Evaluation in the Transnational ‘Management by Projects' Policies

2004

There is a supranational tendency in educational governance towards a 'management by projects' policy, which substitutes democratic procedures and norm-based control in FOR? materialisation of educational justice. The organisational level becomes crucial for the management of education and the pressure to conceive education as a managerial activity increases. At the same time, educational expertise in public administration becomes substituted by subcontracted, policy-led research. In the context of transnational governance the civil service is turning into a busnocracy, which is responsible for the quality of education to the global markets instead of to people. The article discusses this t…

Näkemys oikeudenmukaisuudesta ja kihlakunnantuomarin viraltapano 1700-luvun puolivälin Vanhassa Suomessa

2021

Sven Johan Östring hoiti Vanhassa Suomessa sijainneen Savonlinnan tuomiokunnan kihlakunnantuomarin virkaa reilun vuosikymmen ajan keväästä 1747 kesään 1760. Kihlakunnantuomarin ja tuomiokunnan rahvaan välit kärjistyivät 1750-luvun lopulla talonpoikien valittaessa toistuvasti tuomari Östringin väärinkäytöksistä. Talonpoikien mukaan kihlakunnantuomari Östring oli heidän vihamiehensä. Artikkelissa kysytään, miten virkavirhevalitusprosessit etenivät ja mitkä syyt johtivat lopulta kihlakunnantuomarin viraltapanoon. Kihlakunnantuomari Östringin väärinkäytökset olivat luonteeltaan pääasiassa taloudellisia. Valituksissa korostui kuitenkin taloudellisia menetyksiä vahvemmin talonpoikien näkemys oike…

Despicable dark relics: generated by gravity with unconstrained masses

2019

We demonstrate the existence of a generic, efficient and purely gravitational channel producing a significant abundance of dark relics during reheating after the end of inflation. The mechanism is present for any inert scalar with the non-minimal curvature coupling $\xi R\chi^2$ and the relic production is efficient for natural values $\xi = {\cal O}(1)$. The observed dark matter abundance can be reached for a broad range of relic masses extending from $m \sim 1 {\rm k eV}$ to $m \sim 10^{8} {\rm GeV}$, depending on the scale of inflation and the dark sector couplings. Frustratingly, such relics escape direct, indirect and collider searches since no non-gravitational couplings to visible ma…
