Abstract Hamelin et al. criticize some conclusions of our paper [Morente, J.A., Porti, J.A., Salinas, A., Navarro, E.A., 2008. Icarus 195, 802–811]. This rebuttal is our response to their criticism. In our view, their comments are contradictory and not based on scientific argument. Our paper presents a comprehensible methodology for extracting weak resonances from the late-time response of systems with high losses and our conclusions are derived from and supported by this methodology, which was first checked using an analytical function and later with the data from a numerical simulation of Titan’s atmosphere. Hegel’s Science of Logic contains a refutation ( Widerlegung ) of Spinoza’s system on whose correct understanding depends the adequate interpretation of the philosophical point of view of Hegel’s original brand of Idealism. I stress its importance, then indicate where to look for the rebuttal in the work and finally explain in what sense has a logical character (it is neither a phenomenological nor an epistemological nor a moral or practical argument). Prosodiaa on yleisesti pidetty vaikeana osa-alueena vieraan kielen ääntämisen oppimisessa. Sen merkitys ymmärretyksi tulemisessa ja mielekkäässä kommunikoinnissa on kuitenkin kiistaton. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tavoitteena oli selvittää, kuinka suomenkieliset ruotsin pää- ja sivuaineopiskelijat oppivat ääntämisessään tuottamaan riikinruotsille ominaista prosodiaa kuuden viikon mittaisen ääntämiskurssin aikana. Tutkimus toteutettiin äänittämällä kuuden opiskelijan puhetta kurssin alussa ja lopussa. Opiskelijoilta äänitetyt identtiset lauseet analysoitiin akustisesti kuuden parametrin suhteen. We thank Dr. K Appelhans et al. for their comments [1] on our paper [2], published online first in April 2012. In our review, we aimed to draw the attention of physicians to the uncontrolled and increasingly alarming use of herbal products and dietary supplements in the general population. In fact, in Italy this phenomenon, though still limited, has rapidly increased over the last few years. Here, use of herbal medicine products has increased to 3.7 %, while in other countries consumption is higher, reaching 20 % in the UK, and 40 % in the USA. Tutkielmani tarkoitus oli selvittää, mitä mieltä lukiolaiset ovat ruotsin kielen ääntämisharjoituksista ja niiden riittävyydestä, sekä ottaa selville heidän yleinen kantansa ruotsin kielen opiskelusta. Tutkimuksessa huomioitiin myös, kuinka sukupuoli ja aiempi menestys opinnoissa vaikuttivat vastauksiin. Tämän lisäksi lukio-opettajilta kysyttiin, millaisia ääntämisharjoituksia he käyttävät opetuksessaan. Tutkimus oli kvalitatiivinen ja materiaali koottiin lomakkeiden avulla. Kyselylomakkeita oli kaksi, joista toinen oli oppilaita ja toinen opettajia varten. Tutkimukseen osallistui yhteensä 110 lukiolaista ja 4 opettajaa eri puolilta Suomea.
