Suomen rinnakkaiskoulujärjestelmästä siirryttiin peruskoulujärjestelmään vuosina 1972–1977. Uudistuksen myötä koko ikäluokka suoritti oppivelvollisuutensa yhdessä ja samassa koulussa. Uudistuksen tarkoituksena oli ennen kaikkea luoda kaikille yhtäläiset mahdollisuudet sivistyä ja jatkokouluttautua, perheen asuinpaikasta ja sosioekonomisesta asemasta riippumatta. Peruskoulun myötä kansa- ja oppikoulun opettajat siirtyivät työskentelemään yhdessä. Esiteltävässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin tukijärjestelyjen toimivuutta perusopetuksessa rehtorien (N = 335) arvioimana. Aineisto kerättiin kyselylomakkeella syksyllä 2012. Rehtoreiden arvioita tukijärjestelyjen toimivuudesta selitti eniten se, millaisia tukijärjestelyjen arvioitiin olleen ennen lakiuudistusta. Koulun osallistuminen Tehostetun ja erityisen tuen kehittämistoimintaan (KELPO-hanke) oli yhteydessä myönteisempiin arvioihin oppimissuunnitelmien käytön, osa-aikaisen erityisopetuksen, kodin kanssa tehtävän yhteistyön, oppilashuoltotyöryhmän ja opetuksen eriyttämisen toimivuudesta. Sanomalehtien Liitto järjestää vuosittain paikallislehtikilpailun, jonka tarkoitus on parantaa paikallislehtien laatua. Kilpailussa lehdet saavat raadilta kirjallista palautetta sisällöstään, kuvituksestaan, ulkoasustaan ja mielipidekirjoituksistaan. Pro gradu -työssäni tutkin, millainen käytännön merkitys kilpailulla on paikallisjournalismin kehittäjänä. Samalla pohdin lehtien tavoitteita eli sitä, millaista hyvä paikallisjournalismi on. We explore whether andhow health system reforms and policy measures adopted during the past two decades in Finland and Sweden reflect and address the needs of the older people.
