Experiences, reputation, references and decision-making in an online hospitality network

The aim of this thesis was to analyse behavioural patterns that occur after a negative experience during a hospitality exchange. The focus of this study is the largest online hospitality network to date, the CouchSurfing Project. CouchSurfing enables travellers to connect and to offer each other help in form of a free hospitality exchange. Furthermore, CouchSurfing presents a platform for cultural exchange and the possibility for members to connect in this online-offline community. Nykypäivänä työurat ovat monipuolistuneet ja tämä näkyy myös opettajien keskuudessa. Opettajien siirtyminen pois varsinaisesta opetustehtävästä on yleistynyt ja näin opettajaksi kouluttautuneiden työurat ovat ainakin osittain muuttumassa. Myös liikunnanopettajat ovat jo pitkään olleet paitsi opetustaitojensa myös liikunnallisten taitojensa vuoksi haluttua työvoimaa muuallakin kuin koulumaailmassa. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää liikunnanopettajaksi valmistuneiden nykyistä työnkuvaa ja ammatinvaihtoon vaikuttaneita tekijöitä. Jyväskylän yliopiston musiikin laitoksen musiikkikasvatuksen koulutusohjelma on vuodesta 2004 asti ollut mukana CIMOn koordinoimassa North-South-South-verkosto-ohjelmassa. Tässä tutkimuksessa on tutkittu Jyväskylän yliopiston musiikin laitoksen ja Etelä-Afrikan Pretorian yliopiston välistä NSS-ohjelmaan liittyvää opiskelijaliikkuvuutta. Tutkimuksessa on haastateltu kahta Etelä-Afrikkaan opiskelijavaihtoon lähtevää opiskelijaa. Tarkoituksena oli selvittää opiskelijoiden ajatuksia opiskeluvaihtoa kohtaan. Tutkimuksessa haluttiin selvittää opiskelijoiden lähdön motiiveja, toiveita ja odotuksia vaihtoa kohtaan, sekä opiskelijoiden tietoutta NSS-ohjelmasta.

We formulate and solve a real-world shape design optimization problem of an air intake ventilation system in a tractor cabin by using a preference-based surrogate-assisted evolutionary multiobjective optimization algorithm. Yksityisen tekstilajin salassa muotoutuvia piirteitä on vaikeampi seurata kuin vapaasti luettavien lehtitekstien tai julkisten asiakirjojen genremuutoksia. Intiimit tekstilajit jäävät helposti tutkimatta. Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastellaan päiväkirjaa yksityisenä tekstilajina. Päiväkirja on tunnistettava ja iäkäs, mutta samalla henkilökohtainen ja kirjoittajansa tarkoituksiin mukautuva genre, mikä tekee sen vakaudesta suhteellista. Suhteellinen vakaus on Bahtinin mukaan genren ominaispiirre. Jotkin genret ovat vakaampia ja toiset dynaamisia. Genret tasapainoilevat kahden niihin vaikuttavan voiman välillä.
