Tutkimuksen tehtävänä on selvittää, kuinka poliittiset vaikutuspyrkimykset ilmenevät Manic Street Preachers -yhtyeen vuosien 1992-2001 singlejulkaisujen musiikissa eli sanoituksissa, sävellyksissä, esityksessä ja levytyksessä. Tarkoituksena on tarkastella myös, miten yhtye edustaa protestilaulugenreä ja kuinka yhtyeen poliittisuus on muuttunut kaupallisen menestymisen sekä ajallisen muutoksen myötä. Lähestyn politiikkaa ja siihen liittyvää valta-aspektia tässä tutkimuksessa vaikutusvallan näkökulmasta. This paper applies aspects of Bourdieu’s conceptual toolkit related to capital, and analyses inter- and intra-generational relations of influence. Applying Bourdieu’s concepts to examples of case studies from a children’s parliament in Finland, and with reference to an adult resident forum, moments of continuity and disruption in the relatively stable patterns of distinction between children and adults emerge. Children in school councils (at times) are labourers for agendas set by teachers, but the children at the top of the structure’s hierarchy can benefit from cultural capital and a functional capital that enables them to set agendas and direct the work of others. Franklin Roosevelt toimi maan presidenttinä vuosina 1933–1945 ja pyrki parantamaan ihmisten elinoloja sosiaalipoliittisella New Deal - ohjelmallaan. This chapter explores the ways in which Southern civil society organizations (CSOs) navigate between diverse audiences and logics in relation to which their legitimacy is negotiated. Drawing on the notions of practical hybrids and organizational legitimacy in hybrid organizations, the chapter explores the legitimacy audiences and logics relevant to a Ugandan gender advocacy organization, Action for Development (ACFODE). Child–educator disagreements in Finnish early childhood education and care: young children’s possibilities for influence

This study explores young children’s possibilities for influence in situations of child–educator disagreement in Finnish early childhood education and care (ECEC). Data were gathered from observations conducted in four ECEC groups of under three year-olds. A total of 112 child–educator disagreements were analysed qualitatively using reflexive thematic analysis. Children’s influence was rather limited in most disagreements, as these involved the established institutional order as manifested in the rules and norms of daily activities and educators’ control over children’s bodies and material resources.
