Authoritarian Neoliberalism : Its Ideological Antecedents and Policy Manifestations from Carl Schmitt’s Political Economy of Governance

The regime of authoritarian neoliberalism is underway. In contemporary political economy of governance, this regime has been construed as a crisis response of the capitalist class to manage the conflict-ridden consequences of economic globalization; and, as an ideological project of a section of the ruling elites to justify the embedding of market-oriented development processes in a politically repressive government institution. The lift computation for an oscillating flat plate in incompressible potential flow

The initial aim of this work was the estimation of the lift acting on a flat plate performing small oscillations in a plane uniform stream by means of a simplified model based on one or at the most two lumped vortices, and the assessment of its results by comparison to those that were exact. The model was found to work well up to a reduced frequency of about 1 or 2, above which the results diverged from those that were correct. Truth, Negation and Meaning

‘True’ and ‘False’ are defined through a linguistic rule requiring the negation operator. This is the elaboration of an idea proffered for the first time by the Stoics on the basis of some remarks by Aristotle and then in modern times by Frege and Wittgenstein. Another thesis of this essay is the following: the true/false rule is a sort of UR-Regel underlying all linguistic practices (including prayers and commands) and all human cultures. Reinterpreting the notion of Spielraum put forward by Wittgenstein in 4.463 of the Tractatus, I will present an implicational pragmatic theory of a true proposition. Jokes and reductio ad absurdum are explained as examples of Spielraum.

Influence of Geometrical Parameters, Wall Angle and Part Shape on Thickness Reduction of Single Point Incremental Forming

Abstract The aim of this paper is to study the thickness reduction during the whole single point incremental forming process. The experimental setup is realized in such a way that the blank sheet is in the vertical position and forming is done using an anthropomorphic robot with six degrees of freedom. The vertical positioning of the blank sheet allows the on-line visualization using an optical measuring system of the major and minor strains and of the thickness reduction. Energy-weighted M1 sum rule with explicit δ degrees of freedom

Abstract The influence of Δ degrees of freedom on the energy-weighted M1 sum rule is investigated and applied to 2 H and 4 He. Using π- and ρ-exchange potentials a reduction of the potential contribution of the order of 50% is obtained. The absolute value of the sum rule is strongly dependent on the short-range behaviour of the nuclear wave function. Furthermore, the contribution of c.m. effects is evaluated and found to be of the order of 5–10%.

Stretch-shortening cycle: a powerful model to study normal and fatigued muscle.

Stretch-shortening cycle (SSC) in human skeletal muscle gives unique possibilities to study normal and fatigued muscle function. The in vivo force measurement systems, buckle transducer technique and optic fiber technique, have revealed that, as compared to a pure concentric action, a non-fatiguing SSC exercise demonstrates considerable performance enhancement with increased force at a given shortening velocity. Multiple solutions for strongly resonant Robin problems

We consider nonlinear (driven by the p†Laplacian) and semilinear Robin problems with indefinite potential and strong resonance with respect to the principal eigenvalue. Using variational methods and critical groups, we prove four multiplicity theorems producing up to four nontrivial smooth solutions.
