The IMF Lending Activity – A Survey

Abstract This paper presents the evolution of the IMF lending arrangements approved between 1953-2013. The study covers both non-concessional and concessional loans. The findings show that the volume of the IMF loans has fluctuated significantly and the value of the IMF lending has increased over a period of economic or financial crisis, as the debt crisis of the 1980s, the Tequila crisis in 1994-1995, the Southeast Asia crisis in 1997-1998, Russia in 1998, Brazil in 1998-1999 and Argentina in 1999-2002 or the global financial crisis since 2008.

In this paper, we consider the static stability problems of axially moving orthotropic membranes and plates. The study is motivated by paper production processes, as paper has a fiber structure which can be described as orthotropic on the macroscopic level. The moving web is modeled as an axially moving orthotropic plate. The original dynamic plate problem is reduced to a two-dimensional spectral problem for static stability analysis, and solved using analytical techniques. Exploring the impact of sustainable value proposition on firm performance

Considering the immense potential of sustainable business models in tackling the broader challenge of corporate sustainability, this paper integrates the literature streams on sustainability practices and organizational business models to analyze the performance implications of a firm's sustainable value proposition. Based on the analysis of a large panel dataset across different industries, consistent with the proposed theory, a sustainable value proposition has been found to have a positive impact on a firm's market-based financial performance (namely, Tobin's Q).
