Abstract We give a representation of any integer as a vector of the Witt ring W ( Z p ) and relate it to the Fermat quotient q ( n ) = ( n p − 1 − 1 ) / p . Logarithms are introduced in order to establish an isomorphism between the commutative unipotent groups 1 + p W ( Z p ) and W ( Z p ) .
An Extension of the VSM Documents Representation using Word Embedding

Abstract In this paper, we will present experiments that try to integrate the power of Word Embedding representation in real problems for documents classification. Word Embedding is a new tendency used in the natural language processing domain that tries to represent each word from the document in a vector format. This representation embeds the semantically context in that the word occurs more frequently. Abstract The mode I fracture parameters for an orthotropic body are directly calculated from full-field deformation measurements provided by Digital Image Correlation (DIC). Three complementary and direct approaches are evaluated and compared: (i) the determination of the Stress Intensity Factor (SIF) by fitting the displacement field using the analytical expression proposed by Lekhnitskii; (ii) the determination of the J-Integral by using the Energy Domain Integral (EDI) formulation on the raw DIC data; and (iii) the calculation of the J-Integral using the EDI approach on the displacement data fitted using Lekhnitskii’s formulation. A mathematical tool for describing the behaviour of a dense effluent discharge

In many cases a dense effluent has to be discharged in the environment with possible harmful consequences. The preferred design for the relevant discharge unit is that of a simple or multi-port diffuser issuing jets at a given inclination above the horizontal. This work presents the follow-on developments of a model previously proposed to predict the behaviour of inclined dense jets issuing in a stagnant environment. Abstract The statistical error estimates of a LAOCOON3-type system are tested. The analyzabilities of a spectrum and spectral parameters are described by a new measure. The variation in the uncertainties of the parameters can be explained by correlation coefficients. According to the calculations made, the error estimates are normally quite reliable if the accuracy of the observed spectrum is known. In some cases the Newton-Raphson type of iteration does not converge or the confidence limits of the parameters are enormous or both; an example is discussed. Writer identification for historical handwritten documents using a single feature extraction method

International audience; With the growth of artificial intelligence techniques the problem of writer identification from historical documents has gained increased interest. It consists on knowing the identity of writers of these documents. This paper introduces our baseline system for writer identification, tested on a large dataset of latin historical manuscripts used in the ICDAR 2019 competition. In highly mobile large-scale vehicular ad-hoc networks, routing protocols must be fast and efficient in terms of low routing discovery delay and communication overhead to support the applications such as car talk. Multipath extensions to the DYMO routing protocol

Multipath routing is a technique that can improve performance, specially in mobile ad hoc networks. Due to traffic dispersion it can perform load balancing; minimize the energy consumed by nodes or prevent traffic analysis. In this work we focus on enhancing the DYMO protocol to support multipath routing. We study the impact of traffic dispersion on both UDP and TCP traffic when varying a set of parameters.
