Robust control in uncertain multi-inventory systems and consensus problems

Abstract We consider a continuous time linear multi–inventory system with unknown demands bounded within ellipsoids and controls bounded within polytopes. We address the problem of ∈-stabilizing the inventory since this implies some reduction of the inventory costs. The main results are certain conditions under which ∈-stabilizability is possible through a saturated linear state feedback control. The idea of this approach is similar to the consensus problem solution for a network of continuous time dynamic agents, where each agent evolves according to a first order dynamics has bounded control and it is subject to unknown but bounded disturbances. In the last 20 years the natural oriented reserve of Monte Pellegrino is affected by several rockfall events. This sector of the Northern Sicily is a strategic urban area and represent the most important element of both the religious and cultural tradition and landscape for the city of Palermo.The rockfalls are here the major natural threats and represent a relevant risk of people, structures and infrastructures and prevents the economic and social development that could be made by high tourist potential of the area. Renewable energy (RE) systems can certainly allow reducing the use of fossil fuels and the related environmental impacts for building air-conditioning. It is more and more clear that good design of the system and appropriateness of the technology are a key issues on the way to maximise the benefits. Therefore, for systems dealing with solar thermal systems, it has been experienced that wrong choices among RE technologies to meet specific applications could also lead to negative effects in terms of Primary Energy (PE) saving.
Efficacy of screen recording in the other-revision of translations: episodic memory and event models

In a 2011 study, Angelone compared the self-revision results of graduate German translation students. Participants documented their original translations using Integrated Problem and Decision Reporting (IPDR) logs (Gile 2004), think-aloud protocols and screen recordings. They then used this documentation to assist self-revision of their translations. Angelone found a significant improvement in error detection overall and in each of six discrete error categories when participants used screen recordings to assist their self-revision.
