Are validation scales useful for Detecting Deliberately Faked Personality Tests? A study in incarcerated populations

Personality self-report questionnaires are frequently used in forensic settings to detect psychopathology, to predict recidivism, and to assess adaptability to life in prison. Although most personality questionnaires include validity or control scales, even with the scales most outcomes can be easily manipulated. The aim of this study is to analyze the utility of the control scales of the Situational Personality Questionnaire. A sample of 200 male prisoners was randomized into two groups. Both groups completed the SPQ as a part of the mandatory psychological assessment when they entered prison, and then again 8 months later. Automatic recognition of tree species from 3D point clouds of forest plots

The objective of the thesis is the automatic recognition of tree species from Terrestrial LiDAR data. This information is essential for forest inventory. As an answer, we propose different recognition methods based on the 3D geometric texture of the bark.These methods use the following processing steps: a preprocessing step, a segmentation step, a feature extraction step and a final classification step. They are based on the 3D data or on depth images built from 3D point clouds of tree trunks using a reference surface.We have investigated and tested several segmentation approaches on depth images representing the geometric texture of the bark. El convento de San José en Valencia, construido junto al Portal Nuevo y la muralla entre 1609 y 1628, constituye una muestra destacable de la arquitectura clasicista desornamentada de procedencia castellana. La presencia de fray Ambrosio Mariano de San Benito, antiguo colaborador de Teresa de Jesús, en la fundación de los conventos de San José y de San Felipe Apóstol de Valencia, puede ser la clave de la introducción de tos modelos arquitectónicos de tos primeros conventos de la reforma carmetitana en Valencia. Se incluye el catálogo de las pinturas, esculturas y cerámicas que se conservaban en la iglesia. (A)

The purpose of this study was to analyse the evolution between 2009 and 2010 of residents of Tarragona's perceptions of the importance, impact and expected benefits of hosting the 2017 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona. A questionnaire was administered to two random samples of residents of Tarragona one year apart. The results showed high percentages of people who felt that this sporting event is either quite important or very important from an economic, social and sporting perspective and that it also has a high local and regional impact, albeit not so much at a national or international level.
