A Big Five personality inventory in two non‐Indo‐European languages

1995

In this study we report on two successful replications of a five‐factor personality inventory in two non‐Indo‐European languages, Estonian and Finnish, which both belong to the group of Uralic languages. Costa and McCrae's (1985) NEO Personality Inventory was adapted to these two languages. By all relevant psychometric parameters neither developed construct differs from the original construct: the reliabilities of only 11 per cent for the Estonian and 36 per cent for the Finnish subscale were lower than those of the respective NEO‐PI scales. The factor structure of both Estonian and Finnish inventories was very close to the five‐factor structure of the NEO‐PI, accounting for 71.7 per cent …

About some psychological variables correlated with dogmatism

1983

The relationships between dogmatism and some perceptual-cognitive, personality, and attitudinal indices were investigated for 40 men and 40 women. Dogmatism scores correlated negatively with the scores in Witkin's Group Embedded Figures Test and on the Flexibility scale from Gough's California Psychological Inventory. Correlations were positive for a favorable attitude towards concepts like Discipline, Obedience, Social order, measured by the semantic differential. Some incongruities between obtained data and Rokeach's (1960) findings are pointed out.

Perceived paternal and maternal acceptance and children's outcomes in Colombia

2007

The relationship between perceived paternal and maternal acceptance and children's adjustment was analyzed. The sample consisted of 234 children and 234 parental figures (mother or primary female caregiver, and father or primary male caregiver) living in two-parent nuclear families in Colombia. The children's age range was 7 to 13 (M = 9.7). Children completed the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (Child PARQ mother and father versions; Rohner, 1990), and the Personality Assessment Questionnaire (PAQ; Rohner, 1990). Parents completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL; Achenbach & Edelbrock, 1983). The analyses revealed that perceived paternal and maternal acceptance were both…

Obesity and Interpersonal Problems: An Analysis with the Interpersonal Circumplex

2011

This study examines the interpersonal problems profiles of obese individuals by cluster analysing the interpersonal problems circumplex scores of participants. The Inventory of Interpersonal Problems—Short Circumplex (IIP-32) was completed by 368 treatment-seeking obese individuals. These data were cluster analysed, and groups of obese subjects defined by varying interpersonal problems were compared with regard to psychological distress, self-esteem, body dissatisfaction, quality of life and binge behaviours. Cluster analyses of the IIP-32 resulted in four clusters, which occupied two quadrants of the interpersonal circumplex. Several differences in body mass index, psychological distress, …

Transferencia valor-experiencia a través del patrocinio deportivo : antecedentes y consecuencias

2021

This study proposes a general model for sports sponsorship which takes as its central concept the transfe…

Force Concept Inventory-based multiple-choice test for investigating students’ representational consistency

2010

This study investigates students' ability to interpret multiple representations consistently (i.e., representational consistency) in the context of the force concept. For this purpose we developed the Representational Variant of the Force Concept Inventory (R-FCI), which makes use of nine items from the 1995 version of the Force Concept Inventory (FCI). These original FCI items were redesigned using various representations (such as motion map, vectorial and graphical), yielding 27 multiple-choice items concerning four central concepts underpinning the force concept: Newton's first, second, and third laws, and gravitation. We provide some evidence for the validity and reliability of the R-FC…

Information Exchange Supply Chain under inventory inaccuracy: a simulation study

2012

The objective of this paper is to contribute at quantifying the impact of inventory record inaccuracy on operational performance and customer service level in collaborative supply chains. To this purpose we analyse the impact of shrinkage errors in the inventory item recording activity in an “information exchange supply chain”, i.e. a supply chain in which companies share information about market demand and use such information for placing orders to their suppliers. We present the mathematical formulation of such a supply chain model and we conduct a numerical simulation and a sensitivity analysis over different level of errors.
