Sympathetic tone and ventricular tachycardia

Background The pathogenesis of idiopathic monomorphic ventricular tachycardia is not clear. We suppose that a lack of balance of the sympathetic system could be involved. Frequency domain analyses of the heart rate can be useful to understand autonomic system balance. Therefore we performed this evaluation on a sample of seven children affected by idiopathic monomorphic ventricular tachycardia. Methods and results We performed a Holter recording for palpitations on all the children, with an average age of 12 (range: 7-18 years). Ventricular Fibrillation detection using time-frequency and the KNN classifier without parameter extraction

[ES] Este trabajo propone la detección de FV y su discriminación de TV y otros ritmos cardiacos basándose en la representación tiempo-frecuencia del ECG y su conversión en imágen como entrada a un clasificador de vecinos más cercanos (KNN) sin necesidad de extracción de parámetros adicionales. Tres variantes de datos de entrada al clasificador son evaluados. Background: Pathogenic variants in the filamin C (FLNC) gene are associated with inherited cardiomyopathies including dilated cardiomyopathy with an arrhythmogenic phenotype. Prevalence, management, and outcome of adverse rhythm disorders in takotsubo syndrome: insights from the international multicenter GEIST registry

One important complication related to takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is adverse rhythm disorders. Our study was conducted to determine the incidence and management of adverse rhythm disorders in TTS and its long-term prognostic impact. We analyzed 906 TTS patients from 9 European centers. Phrenic nerve displacement by intrapericardial balloon inflation during epicardial ablation of ventricular tachycardia: Four case reports

BACKGROUND Phrenic nerve (PN) injury is one of the recognized possible complications following epicardial ablation of ventricular tachycardia (VT). High-output pacing is a widely used maneuver to establish a relationship between the PN and the ablation catheter tip. An absence of PN capture is usually considered an indication that it is safe to ablate, and that successful ablation may be performed at adjacent sites.
