There is evidence from research based on self-report personality measures that schizophrenia patients tend to be lower in extraversion and higher in neuroticism than healthy individuals. Self-report personality measures assess aspects of the explicit self-concept. The Implicit Association Test (IAT) has been developed to assess aspects of implicit cognition such as implicit attitudes and implicit personality traits. PURPOSE In continent urinary diversion metabolic disturbances may be encountered in long-term followup. We evaluated metabolic consequences in patients with a minimum followup of 5 years after Mainz pouch 1 urinary diversion.At our institution continent urinary diversion using the ileocecal segment was performed between 1983 and 1995 in 458 patients. A total of 94 patients with an ileocecal pouch for a minimum of 5 years were reevaluated for metabolic changes. Median followup was 9.0 years. Aims: To evaluate health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in APPRECIA trial. Methods: HRQoL was evaluated using disease-specific shortened Spanish version of the IBDQ (SIBDQ-9) and generic European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) questionnaires, completed at baseline and at weeks 24 and 52. Objectives To determine the late complications and consequences for renal function, vitamin and acid-base metabolism after application of the Mainz Pouch I (MZP-I) technique in children and young adults. Patients and methods To November 1994, the MZP-I procedure was carried out in 463 patients at our institution, 91 of whom were children and adolescents (≤20 years old) using bladder augmentation in 21 and a continent cutaneous stoma in 70. Personality Variables as Predictors of Facebook Usage

This study investigates the role of personality factors as predictors of Facebook usage. Data concerning Facebook usage and personality factors from 654 Facebook users were gathered using a web survey. Using path analysis, the results showed Openness was a predictor of Facebook early adoption, Conscientiousness with sparing use, Extraversion with long sessions and abundant friendships, and Neuroticism with high frequency of sessions. The possible role of Agreeableness in predicting low session frequency and friendships needs further validation.

The purpose of the study was to do an exploratory factor analysis and to examine the criterion-related and discriminant validity of the Lifetime Severity Index for Cocaine (LSI-C), Spanish version. A sample of 171 outpatients from 10 drug centers in Spain participated in the study. We conducted the factor analysis with orthogonal rotation and examined correlations between the LSI-C total score and criterion variables as well as the score obtained by a quality of life measure. The factor analysis revealed 2 principal factors that explain 65.8% of the variance.
