Three derivatives of 5-iodouracil were prepared, and their complexation properties, supplemented by 5-iodouracil under the same conditions, were studied with and without halogen bond acceptors in N,N-dimethylformamide, N,N-diethylformamide, N-methylformamide, formamide, dimethylsulfoxide, and water. The intermolecular halogen and hydrogen bonding interactions observed in the solid state were investigated using single crystal X-ray diffraction and quantum chemical calculations, and the acquired data were contrasted with bonding interactions previously reported for 5-iodouracil in the Cambridge Structural Database. Template-Free Supracolloidal Self-Assembly of Atomically Precise Gold Nanoclusters : From 2D Colloidal Crystals to Spherical Capsids

We report supracolloidal self-assembly of atomically precise and strictly monodisperse gold nanoclusters involving p-mercaptobenzoic acid ligands (Au102-pMBA44) under aqueous conditions into hexagonally packed monolayer-thick two-dimensional facetted colloidal crystals (thickness 2.7 nm) and their bending to closed shells leading to spherical capsids (d ca. 200 nm), as controlled by solvent conditions. The 2D colloidal assembly is driven in template-free manner by the spontaneous patchiness of the pMBA ligands around the Au102-pMBA44 nanoclusters preferably towards equatorial plane, thus promoting inter-nanocluster hydrogen bonds and high packing to planar sheets. Chiral hierarchical structures are universal in nature, whereas quite challenging to mimic in man-made synthesis. We report herein the synthesis and structure of tertiary chiral nanostructures with 100% optical purity. Seven single crystals containing either N,N-dimethyluracil (DMHU) or one of its 5-halogenated derivatives (DMXU; X = F, Cl, Br, I) were prepared using N,N-dimethylformamide as the crystallization solvent. Single crystal X-ray diffraction and quantum chemical calculations carried out at the spin component scaled local MP2 level of theory were then used to study the intramolecular halogen and nonconventional hydrogen bonds present in the structures. Single crystal X-ray structural dataset of 1,2,4-dithiazolium tetrafluoroborate

Herein, we present the crystallographic dataset of 1,2,4-dithiazolium tetrafluoroborate. Single crystal X-ray structural analysis evidences that the 1,2,4-dithiazolium ring is almost planar. The 1,2,4-dithiazolium and tetrafluoroborate ions contribute in hydrogen bonding wherein the N-H·N hydrogen bonding in 1,2,4-dithiazolium dimer forms an eight-membered pseudo ring with the R22(8) Etter's graph set. The information provided in this data contributes to the understanding of structural chemistry and hydrogen bonding interactions in dithiazole derivatives.
