Violence in close relationships and the dramaturgy of violence

2012

The assumption, at the basis of the report, considers the bullying - inside the systemic approach - as a state of oppression caused by the identitary uncertainty of many teenagers. Today, the violence between peers is characterized as one of the most effective strategies for the construction of atypical identity or troubled identities, in specific relational contexts (frames). The mutual acceptance and the permanence in the deviant group, allows the creation/attribution of an identity to each member of the group, and it is subject to the so-called "cognitive responsibility", which allows the voluntary perpetuation (replication) of a "dramatic scene" (framework). This last takes the form of a…

Oli essenziali e loro applicazione in agricoltura: un’analisi della letteratura attraverso VOSviewer

2023

The new guidelines of the European Commission intend to reduce the use of pesticides by 50%. A valid sustainable alternative to chemicals products in agriculture seems to be essential oils (EOs). The role of OEs is to cope external stressors for protecting plants themselves from pests and/or insects, bacteria, fungi and nematodes. The purpose of the work is to investigate which EOs have been evaluated in agriculture in the last 100 years, specially focusing on main target activities (antibacterial, insecticidal, fungicidal, acaricidal, antiviral, nematocidal). The examination has been done with VOSviewer software, which through the cluster analysis of scientific literature available on Scop…

Inflammatory Biomarkers in Febrile Seizure: A Comprehensive Bibliometric, Review and Visualization Analysis.

2021

Background: Inflammatory markers association with many diseases is the subject of many articles and reviews. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric review and visualization analysis of inflammatory biomarkers (IB) in the context of febrile seizure (FS) patients. Methods: The study focused on IB in FS using (1) bibliometric analysis specific indicators and maps in order to analyze and present the network of authors, journals, universities, and countries, and (2) automated literature screening and unsupervised clustering approach for filtering and topic cluster identification. Results: We conducted a literature mining search on FS research, specifically IB in the context of FS, usin…

Customer satisfaction within a large scale retail trading group: research design and control

2010

Even in contexts where Customer Management techniques are not very advanced, the need for relations with customers is as strong as to suggest expensive ad hoc researches able to simultaneously measure the satisfaction levels, to detect the eventual inadequacy of selling actions, to investigate the relations of customers with competitors. This is why the Grande Migliore Group in Palermo commissioned a research from the University of Palermo. The research was made in year 2008 at 10 Grande Migliore shops in Palermo and in other Western Sicily towns. The multipurpose nature of the research and the features of the customers population suggested the adoption of an ad hoc research design, the fea…

Heading at Enabling Settings for Learning

2021

The paper draws on two cases of learning settings that were converted to meet up-to-date educational requirements within these learning contexts. The authors address the role of stakeholder perspectives. Focusing on the learning situation, they present an articulation tool to aid dialogue between key stakeholder perspectives in a (re)design process. Dialogue is a way to figure out relevant issues and to establish the common ground between participants. The goal of a redesign process is that user requirements are well understood, and the design is embedded into local practices, informed of constraints and aware of potential opportunities regarding educational technology.

Bibliometric Citation Analysis of Cultural Intelligence

2017

Master's thesis Business Administration BE501 - University of Agder 2017 Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify the most influential contributions to cultural intelligence by a bibliometric citation analysis using HistCite, VOSviewer and CiteNetExplorer, in order to provide an objective and scientific future research direction. Design/methodology/approach – The paper describes the development of cultural intelligence construct and its antecedents to and outcomes of CQ, the synthesis of three bibliometric citation tools to analyse a sample of 357 articles by 823 scholars in 199 different journals published between 1992-2017. Findings – The analysis revealed 10 research clusters w…

The troubled identities in relationship between peers and the role of the viewer

2012

10 th Conference of the European Sociological Association – ESA Social relations in turbulent times GENEVA September 2011 Globalization has dispersed along several different lines of action the historical concepts of war and enemy. Yet globalization has also changed the way in which victims are figuratively and symbolically produced. In other words, both ways of dealing with violence today are dramatically changed, especially in intimate and peer relationship. Today it is instead an ever more worrisome in the dynamics of inner life and redefines the boundaries of each other’s identity and the weights that social actors have in their private life. One of the most striking aspects of these tu…

Does reviewing experience reduce disagreement in proposals evaluation? Insights from Marie Skłodowska-Curie and COST Actions

2021

Abstract We have limited understanding of why reviewers tend to strongly disagree when scoring the same research proposal. Thus far, research that explored disagreement has focused on the characteristics of the proposal or the applicants, while ignoring the characteristics of the reviewers themselves. This article aims to address this gap by exploring which reviewer characteristics most affect disagreement among reviewers. We present hypotheses regarding the effect of a reviewer’s level of experience in evaluating research proposals for a specific granting scheme, that is, scheme reviewing experience. We test our hypotheses by studying two of the most important research funding programmes i…
