The Approach Behavior to Angry Words in Athletes : A Pilot Study

An increasing number of studies have found that athletes have a higher level of aggression than non-athletes. Anger is an important factor in the generation of aggressive behavior, and anger has been found to relate to both approach behavior and avoidance behavior. The present pilot study compared the aggression level of athletes and non-athletes using the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire, and examined the responses of participants to anger-related stimuli using the manikin task, a paradigm that measures approach-avoidance behavior. This study investigated the association between the home food environment and the consumption frequency of raw and cooked vegetables, berries and fruit among 3–5-year-old children and their mothers and fathers. The target group consisted of 3–5-year-old children (N=114) attending public early childhood education and care, and their parents (N=100). Tarkastelemme tässä artikkelissa demokratia- ja ihmisoikeuskasvatuksen toteutumista opettajankoulutuksessa Suomessa ja viitteitä yhteiskunnallisen ilmapiirin muutoksesta ihmisoikeuksien ja demokratian kannalta negatiiviseen suuntaan. Tuomme esiin näkökulmia yhteiskunnallisiin osallistumismahdollisuuksiin kielellisten oikeuksien ja erilaisten taustatekijöiden suhteen. Demokratia- ja ihmisoikeuskasvatuksen ydinsisältöihin kuuluu edistää sosiaalista oikeudenmukaisuutta sekä inklusiivista ja moniäänistä kasvatusta sekä teoreettisesti että käytännöllisesti. Purpose Fruit and vegetable intake (FV) is insufficient in industrialized nations and there is excess of discretionary food choices (DC; foods high in fat, sugar, and salt). Long-haul truck drivers are considered a particularly at-risk group given the limited food choices and normatively reinforced eating habits at truck rest-stops. Generalist herbivores can face many challenges when choosing their host plant. This can be particularly difficult if their choice and performance are affected by host experience. Greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), is an invasive generalist herbivore, which has established in year-round greenhouses at northern latitudes where it cannot overwinter outdoors.
