In the article the personal qualities of the teacher, characterizing the professional pedagogical orientation of the teacher, are considered. It explores how, in the activity of the teacher, ideological conviction determines his social and moral orientation, which is expressed in social needs, moral and value orientations, a sense of public duty and civil responsibility. It is noted that the development of cognitive, emotional-strong-willed, moral, communicative qualities will contribute to the successful performance of professional activities, the effective solution of professional tasks, personal improvement.

From Scarcity to Abundance : Food Waste Themes and Virtues in Agrarian and Mature Consumer Society

Uusitalo and Takala address the food waste problem as a societal phenomenon and examine ethical virtues, values linked to them and food practices in two different time periods: agrarian society (1885–1917) and mature consumer society (2008–2017), in Finland. They use data from newspapers to uncover how ethical principles can underpin understanding of the food waste phenomenon. The study shows how the virtues adopted by food chain actors guide their practices towards sustainable ways of handling excess food. This study investigated participants’ conceptions of the ideal mentor and mentee in the Finnish model of peer-group mentoring (PGM). Existing mentoring research emphasises dyadic practices, yet there is a lack of investigation of participants’ roles in group mentoring. The main concepts of this inquiry were dispositions (habitus) and virtues drawing on the theory of practice architectures and Aristotelian virtue philosophy. Having numerous views is necessary for a reliable reconstruction but projections of skeletons lead to different topologies. We reconstruct 3D objects with curved medial axis (whose topology is a tree) from the perspective skeletons on an arbitrary number of calibrated acquisitions.
