Gray visiting Motzkins

We present the first Gray code for Motzkin words and their generalizations: k colored Motzkin words and Schroder words. The construction of these Gray codes is based on the observation that a k colored Motzkin word is the shuffle of a Dyck word by a k-ary variation on a trajectory which is a combination. In the final part of the paper we give some algorithmic considerations and other possible applications of the techniques introduced here.

Resource allocation for clustered network MIMO OFDMA systems

In this article, we address the resource allocation problem for the downlink of a large network multiple input multiple output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system with 3-sector base stations. The system is statically divided into a number of disjoint clusters of sectors. A two-step resource allocation scheme is proposed involving the inter-cluster and the intra-cluster levels. As a first step or inter-cluster level, two cooperative frequency reuse approaches are designed to mitigate the inter-cluster interference. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is considered as one of the promising techniques for providing high data rates in the fifth generation mobile communication. By applying successive interference cancellation schemes and superposition coding at the NOMA receiver, multiple users can be multiplexed on the same subchannel. Spectral clustering to model deformations for fast multimodal prostate registration

International audience; This paper proposes a method to learn deformation parameters off-line for fast multimodal registration of ultrasound and magnetic resonance prostate images during ultrasound guided needle biopsy. The method is based on a learning phase where deformation models are built from the deformation parameters of a splinebased non-linear diffeomorphism between training ultrasound and magnetic resonance prostate images using spectral clustering. SVM approximation for real-time image segmentation by using an improved hyperrectangles-based method

A real-time implementation of an approximation of the support vector machine (SVM) decision rule is proposed. This method is based on an improvement of a supervised classification method using hyperrectangles, which is useful for real-time image segmentation. The final decision combines the accuracy of the SVM learning algorithm and the speed of a hyperrectangles-based method. We review the principles of the classification methods and we evaluate the hardware implementation cost of each method. Learning spatial filters for multispectral image segmentation.

International audience; We present a novel filtering method for multispectral satel- lite image classification. The proposed method learns a set of spatial filters that maximize class separability of binary support vector machine (SVM) through a gradient descent approach. Regularization issues are discussed in detail and a Frobenius-norm regularization is proposed to efficiently exclude uninformative filters coefficients. Experiments car- ried out on multiclass one-against-all classification and tar- get detection show the capabilities of the learned spatial fil- ters.

Calibrating a Motion Model Based on Reinforcement Learning for Pedestrian Simulation

In this paper, the calibration of a framework based in Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning (RL) for generating motion simulations of pedestrian groups is presented. The framework sets a group of autonomous embodied agents that learn to control individually its instant velocity vector in scenarios with collisions and friction forces. The result of the process is a different learned motion controller for each agent. The calibration of both, the physical properties involved in the motion of our embodied agents and the corresponding dynamics, is an important issue for a realistic simulation. Kinematic calibration method for a 5-DOF Gantry-Tau parallel kinematic machine

In this paper a new step-wise approach to kinematic calibration of a 5-DOF Gantry-Tau parallel kinematic machine (PKM) is presented. The approach can be adapted to the modular design of the PKM and the calibration could easily perform part of the assembly instructions for the machine. By using measurements from a laser tracker and least-squares estimates of polynomial functions, a typical accuracy of about 20 micrometer was achieved for the base actuators. The remaining set of 30 general parameters for the hexapod link structure and spherical joint connections were successfully estimated using the Complex search-based evolutionary algorithm.
