Determination of mercury at picogram level in natural waters with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry by using 3D printed metal scavengers

The determination of ultra-trace concentrations of Hg in natural water samples via preconcentration using 3D printed metal scavenger technique followed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was developed. The determination of Hg in certified reference material ERM-CA615 (groundwater) was performed with high accuracy and precision resulting in recovery of 100 ± 3% and RSD <2.5%, respectively. Selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printing was used to fabricate the scavengers using a mixture of polyamide-12 powder with thiol-functionalized silica. Indeed, alterations in neuronal excitability have been associated with several pathological conditions, ranging from epilepsy to neuropsychiatric disorders. Action in Perception: Prominent Visuo-Motor Functional Symmetry in Musicians during Music Listening.

Musical training leads to sensory and motor neuroplastic changes in the human brain. Motivated by findings on enlarged corpus callosum in musicians and asymmetric somatomotor representation in string players, we investigated the relationship between musical training, callosal anatomy, and interhemispheric functional symmetry during music listening. Functional symmetry was increased in musicians compared to nonmusicians, and in keyboardists compared to string players. This increased functional symmetry was prominent in visual and motor brain networks. La literatura científica presenta una cierta confusión sobre la prevalencia de los síntomas asociados al uso de las pantallas de visualización de datos (PVD), debido a varios factores tales como: las diferentes poblaciones estudiadas, edades, sexo y los métodos utilizados para su determinación. Se ha realizado un estudio para determinar la prevalencia de síntomas asociados al uso de las PVD (eliminando estos factores de confusión) y su relación con los factores de riesgo. Método. Participaron 97 usuarios de las PVD de entre 20 y 34 años.
