ChemInform Abstract: New Cluster Condensation Modes in Early Transition Metal Thiophosphates: Synthesis, Structure and Properties of CsTa4P3S19, a No…
2010
The new layer compound CsTa4S5(S2)(PS4)3 was synthesized by the reaction of Ta metal in polythiophosphate melts. Its structure is based on Ta4S5(S2) clusters which are condensed by PS43– groups.
ChemInform Abstract: NbNi2.38Te3, a New Metal-Rich Niobium Telluride with a “Stuffed” TaFe1+ xTe3 Structure.
2010
The authors report the synthesis, structure, and electrical properties of NbNi{sub 2.38}Te{sub 3}. The structure of the compound was determined by X-ray crystallography and the electric conductivity of the compound was measured.
ChemInform Abstract: Ta4BTe8: Tantalum Telluride Cluster Chains with Encapsulated Boron Atoms.
2010
The new metallic chain compound Ta4BTe8 has been synthesized by high-temperature reactions from the elements. The structure consists of chains of fused B-centered Ta6Te12 clusters (shown in the picture), the individual chains being connected by ditelluride groups. The results of band structure calculations indicate that the interstitial B atoms are required for cluster stability.
Slowing down of 1.3–3.5 MeV/u Fe, Kr and I ions in ten metals
2000
Abstract Stopping powers for 1.3–3.5 MeV/u 56 Fe, 80, 84 Kr and 127 I ions in Mg, V, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Nb, Sn, Ta and Au have been determined by a transmission technique exposing the metallic sample foils to the direct ion beam. No previous data have been published for Mg, V, Fe, Co, Nb, Sn or Ta stopping media with these ion energies. The experimental results are compared with parametrizations of the stopping powers found in the literature (SRIM-2000 and Hubert’s parametrization). Discrepancies as high as 21 and 16% are observed for SRIM and Hubert’s parametrization, respectively. However, there is agreement between the present results and other experimental data available at corresponding i…

The Role of Macrocyclic Receptors in Organization of Metal Centers
1994
The coordination properties of saturated aza or oxa-aza macrocyclic receptors are strictly dependent on their molecular topology. In order to rationalize the relationship between structural features and binding characteristics of such molecules we have studied the coordination behavior of different macrocyclic or macropolycyclic oxa-aza ligands towards metal cations. Depending on molecular topology, a variety of inorganic chemical species can be lodged inside the receptor’s cavity, such as simple metal ions, complexed inorganic anions, partially hydrated metal cations or binuclear assemblies.
ChemInform Abstract: Crystal Structures of New Ternary Compounds in RE-Pt-Pb and RE-Au-Pb Systems (RE = Rare Earth Metal).
2012
Abstract The crystal structures of the compounds RE 2 Pt 2 Pb (RE = Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu; Mo 2 FeB 2 structure type, space group P 4/ mbm , Pearson code tP10 ), REPtPb (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm; ZrNiAl structure type, space group P 6 ¯ 2 m , Pearson code hP9 ), RE 2 Au 2 Pb (RE = Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu; Er 2 Au 2 Sn structure type, space group P 4 2 / mnm , Pearson code tP20 ) and REAuPb (RE = Tm, Yb and Lu) were determined using X-ray powder diffraction.
