High frequency resistivity in La2-xSrxCu1-yCoyO4 ceramics
2019
Resitivity measurements have been performed in La:Sr:Cu:Co:O ceramics in a frequency range from 5Hz – 10 9 Hz. A strongly frequency dependent resistance has been observed in La 2 CUO 4 which we interpret in terms of a smooth dielectric to metal transition due to localization effects.
The half-metallic ferromagnet
2007
Abstract Electronic structure calculation were used to predict a new material for spintronic applications. Co 2 Mn 0.5 Fe 0.5 Si is one example which is stable against on-site correlation and disorder effects due to the position of the Fermi energy in the middle of the minority band gap. Experimentally the sample were made exhibiting L 2 1 structure and a high magnetic order.

Electrochemical Age Determinations of Metallic Specimens—Utilization of the Corrosion Clock
2019
Dating needs an age-dependent phenomenon (a "clock"), a procedure for monitoring the advance of time by measuring a physicochemical quantity, and, in the case of archeological artifacts, a sampling procedure that guarantees the representativity and integrity of the dated objects. Metal corrosion in an aerobic atmosphere is a phenomenon whose advance can in principle be used as a clock that depends on the environmental conditions. In spite of the limitation imposed by differences in local conditions of corrosion, a new approach for age determinations has been developed and applied as a feasible tool for age determinations of metallic specimens studied by archeologists and historians. These t…

The synthesis and structural characterization of five Cu(II)-Ln(III) heteronuclear metal-organic frameworks of formula {[Ln4Cu 4(H2O)26(bta)5]·mH 2O}n and {[Ln4Cu4(H 2O)24(bta)5]·pH2O} n [Ln = LaIII (1A/1B), CeIII (2A/2B), Pr III (3A/3B), NdIII (4A/4B) and SmIII (5A/5B) with m/p = 20 (1A)/16 (1B), 18 (2A)/16 (2B), 14 (3A)/16 (3B), 22 (4A)/16 (4B) and 21 (5A)/14 (5B); H4bta =1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid (1-5)] have been performed. These compounds present a single-crystal to single-crystal phase transition from expanded A phases toward the B shrinking networks, which is triggered only in the presence of a dry environment. This phase transition is accompanied by a compression of the cry…
Electron-phonon heat transport in arrays of Al islands with submicrometer-sized tunnel junctions.
1996
We present experimental evidence of the effect of electrode volume and its shape on thermalization of small metallic islands for single electron tunneling. We have investigated the power law and the magnitude of the thermal transport and found that it obeys the common ${T}^{5}$ law for electron-phonon coupling only for the smallest islands studied, and in other cases considered, with cooling fins attached to the islands, the coupling per unit volume is weaker and it rather follows a law $\ensuremath{\propto}{T}^{p}$, where $pl5$. We attribute this to local hot electrons adjacent to the tunnel junctions.
