The multi-state CASPT2 method
1998
Abstract An extension of the multiconfigurational second-order perturbation approach CASPT2 is suggested, where several electronic states are coupled at second order via an effective-Hamiltonian approach. The method has been implemented into the MOLCAS-4 program system, where it will replace the single-state CASPT2 program. The accuracy of the method is illustrated through calculations of the ionic-neutral avoided crossing in the potential curves for LiF and of the valence-Rydberg mixing in the V-state of the ethylene molecule.
Non syndromic synchronous multiple odontogenic keratocysts in a western Indian population : a series of four cases
2018
Odontogenic keratocysts (OKCs) are developmental odontogenic cysts affecting the maxillofacial region and their association with a syndrome especially Naevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS) is a common occurrence in comparison to non syndromic multiple OKCs. In a first, we present a series of four non syndromic cases with multiple OKCs in western Indian population. The presence of multiple OKC in our present case series may be because of the multifocal nature of the lesion rather than its association with any syndrome. Thus, a comprehensive evaluation of any patients reporting with multiple cysts/OKCs always has to be undertaken and the dental practitioner may be the play a key role …
Chapter 4. Transactional Avoidance, National Laws and Possible Reforms
2017
This chapter contains an overview of the different national systems on transactional avoidance. It also contains an analysis of model laws and other efforts that UNCITRAL and other international agencies have been making in order to harmonise national regulations on transactional avoidance.
Unilateral multicystic dysplastic kidney in infants exposed to antiepileptic drugs during pregnancy
2007
Prenatal exposure to antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) increases the risk of major congenital malformations (MCM) in the fetus. AED-related abnormalities include heart and neural tube defects, cleft palate, and urogenital abnormalities. Among the various congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT), multicystic dysplastic kidney (MCDK) disease is one of the most severe expressions. Although prenatal ultrasound (US) examination has increased the prenatal diagnosis of MCDK, the pathogenesis is still unclear. We report on four cases of MCDK in infants of epileptic women treated with AEDs during pregnancy. From October 2003 to June 2006, we observed four infants with unilateral MCDK bo…
Performance Evaluation of CANIT Algorithm in Presence of Congestion Losses
2001
In this paper, we analize by queuing-simulation CANIT (Congestion Avoidance with Normalized Interval of Time) algorithm performances in presence of congestion losses. In a former work [3], we proposed the algorithm (CANIT) for TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) congestion avoidance phase in order to improve fairness during this phase, and we showed that using CANIT algorithm in an environment without loss, instead of standard congestion avoidance algorithm improves both congestion avoidance fairness and bandwith utilization for long RTT connections. In this paper, we consider congestion losses and show that the fairness as well as the bandwith utilization are more efficient when using CANI…
Individual baseline behavioral traits predict the resilience phenotype after chronic social defeat
2021
Abstract Chronic social defeat (CSD) has been widely used as a psychosocial stress model in mice, with the magnitude of CSD-induced social avoidance as the major behavioral hallmark of the resilient and susceptible groups. Despite significant progress in the study of the neurobiology of resilient and susceptible mice, the nature and ethological relevance of CSD-induced social avoidance and social approach, particularly measured using a CD1 mouse, needs conceptual clarification. Based on the findings of a recent study revealing substantial individuality in genetically homogeneous inbred mice, we investigated whether certain baseline individual characteristics of male C57BL/6J mice predict th…
Void superlattice formation in electron irradiated CaF2: Theoretical analysis
2010
Abstract CaF2 is widely adopted as deep-UV window material and thin film optical coating. The void superlattice was observed experimentally under electron irradiation at room temperature. We performed kinetic Monte Carlo (kMC) simulations of the initial stages of the process when short- and intermediate-range order of defects in small Ca colloids and larger interstitial aggregates (F2 gas voids) is created. The kMC model includes fluorine interstitial–vacancy pair creation, defect diffusion, similar defect attraction and dissimilar defect recombination. Special attention is paid to the statistical analysis of the defect aggregate distribution functions under different conditions (dose rate,…
Void lattice formation in electron irradiated CaF 2 : Statistical analysis of experimental data and cellular automata simulations
2016
Abstract Calcium fluoride (CaF2) is an important optical material widely used in both microlithography and deep UV windows. It is known that under certain conditions electron beam irradiation can create therein a superlattice consisting of vacancy clusters (called a void lattice). The goal of this paper is twofold. Firstly, to perform a quantitative analysis of experimental TEM images demonstrating void lattice formation, we developed two distinct image filters. As a result, we can easily calculate vacancy concentration, vacancy cluster distribution function as well as average distances between defect clusters. The results for two suggested filters are similar and demonstrate that experimen…
The Role of Perceived Control in the Psychophysiological Responses to Disgust of Subclinical OCD Women
2019
Obsessive‒compulsive disorder (OCD), and especially contamination obsessions and washing compulsions, has been related to disgust. However, when its cardiovascular correlates have been studied, contradictory results have been found, including heart rate accelerations and decelerations. The aim of this study is to analyze emotional, cognitive, and cardiovascular responses in nonclinical (control) and subclinical participants with obsessive‒compulsive contamination/washing symptoms when confronted with a disgusting stimulus. Twenty-seven participants (14 subclinical OCD) completed a behavioral avoidance task with a contamination-based stimulus while their heart rate and subjective variables w…
Wireless MAC Processor Networking: A Control Architecture for Expressing and Implementing High-Level Adaptation Policies in WLANs
2013
The current proliferation of unplanned wireless local area networks (WLANs) is creating the need for implementing different adaptation strategies to improve network performance under mutating and evolving interference scenarios. In this article, we envision a new solution for expressing and implementing high-level adaptation policies in WLANs, in contrast to the current approaches based on vendor-specific implementations. We exploit the hardware abstraction interface recently proposed by the wireless medium access control (MAC) processor (WMP) architecture and some flow-control concepts similar to the Openflow model for defining MAC adaptation policies. A simple control architecture for dis…
