Tenetin yläkoulun oppilaiden itsearvioitu fyysinen aktiivisuus, arvostukset liikuntaoppiainetta kohtaan ja liikuntamotivaatio

2010

Jouko Mustonen ja Jarno Tuovinen. 2010. Tenetin yläkoulun oppilaiden itsearvioitu fyysinen aktiivisuus, arvostukset liikuntaoppiainetta kohtaan ja liikuntamotivaatio. 73 s. Tutkimuksen aineisto on peräisin Kainuussa toteutettavasta Liikunnasta Kansalaistaito -projektista. Tutkimuksen kohteena oli sotkamolainen Tenetin yläkoulu (n=382). Tutkimusaineisto kerättii…

Introducing the DYNAMICS framework of moment-to-moment development in achievement motivation

2022

This article introduces a new theoretical and psychometric framework describing moment-to-moment development and inter-dependencies of achievement motivation in terms of the situated expectancy-value theory, by introducing dynamical systems concepts into this line of research. As a first empirical example of a study using this framework, we examined whether task values, costs, and success expectancies measured in a learning situation (time point t) predicted themselves and each other at the next situation (t + 1; 27 min later) within a weekly university lecture. Situational task values, expectancies, and costs were assessed using the experience sampling method in 155 university teacher trai…

Odotuksia, uskomuksia ja ennakointeja koulusuoriutumisesta : opiskelumotivaation muotoutuminen musiikkiperuskoulun luokilla 6-9

2011

Tämän lisensiaatintutkimuksen tarkoitus on selvittää, miten oppiainekohtaiset odotukset, arvostukset ja henkilökohtaiset kykyuskomukset muovaavat opiskelumotivaatiota 6-9 luokilla, kun oppilailla on koulupäivän aikana perusopetuksen lisäksi soitonopiskelua lähes päivittäin erilaisissa pienryhmissä tai yksittäin. Tutkimuskohteena oleva musiikkipainotteinen peruskoulu on taidekasvatuksen yhteistyömalli, joka on toteutettu hallinnollisesti kunnallisen peruskoulun ja yksityisen yhteisön ylläpitämän, taiteen perusopetusta antavan musiikkioppilaitoksen kesken. Perusopetuksesta vastaavat peruskoulun opettajat ja musiikinopetuksesta musiikkiopiston soitonopettajat. Tilastollinen ja laadullinen aine…

Signed, Sealed, and Delivered with Trust: Non-Resident Citizens’ Experiences of Newly Adopted Postal Voting

2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it clear that the traditional “booth, ballot, and pen” model of voting, based on a specific location and physical presence, may not be feasible during a health crisis. This situation has highlighted the need to assess whether existing national electoral legislation includes enough instruments to ensure citizens’ safety during voting procedures, even under the conditions of a global pandemic. Such instruments, often grouped under the umbrella of voter facilitation or convenience voting, range from voting in advance and various forms of absentee voting (postal, online, and proxy voting) to assisted voting and voting at home and in hospitals and other healthcare …

Mujeres y liderazgo político en la Península Ibérica y Italia

2022

This article analyzes the image that the media offer about women who currently practice politics as a profession, focusing the field of study on Portugal, Spain and Italy. The work´s starting point is the inequality of treatment by sex, patented in different studies, together with a contextualization about the women´s participation women from those countries in political life throughout history, which in turn is framed in a more generic view of women and politics in Europe. It analyzes media´ strategies in relation to gender roles, biases and underlying stereotypes, as well as the use of language as a tool for constructing discourse around these issues. The conclusions are the survival of i…

De participació local. Una proposta metodològica desde la investigació-acció-participativa

2018

Citizen participation is an increasingly prevalent term in our society. In the process of deployment in the municipal area, progressively local corporations make efforts to innovate practices and develop experiences of citizen participation in defining policies and public affairs, and allocating budgets. While innovation has been advanced with regard to the tools and mechanisms to be used to promote participation, many of the initiatives and experiences have focused more on the implementation of the vote than in the different social processes inherent in the participation. Moreover, we are faced with the absence of a methodological guide that allows approaching a project or strategic plan o…

Protein recovery as a resource from waste specifically via membrane technology : from waste to wonder

2021

Economic growth and the rapid increase in the world population has led to a greater need for natural resources, which in turn, has put pressure on said resources along with the environment. Water, food, and energy, among other resources, pose a huge challenge. Numerous essential resources, including organic substances and valuable nutrients, can be found in wastewater, and these could be recovered with efficient technologies. Protein recovery from waste streams can provide an alternative resource that could be utilized as animal feed. Membrane separation, adsorption, and microbe-assisted protein recovery have been proposed as technologies that could be used for the aforementioned protein re…

How representative are referendums? Evidence from 20 years of Swiss referendums

2017

Direct democracy allows citizens to reverse decisions made by legislatures and even initiate new laws which parliaments are unwilling to pass, thereby, as its proponents argue, leading to more representative policies than would have obtained under a purely representative democracy. Yet, turnout in referendums is usually lower than in parliamentary elections and tends to be skewed towards citizens of high socio-economic status. Consequently, critics of direct democracy argue that referendum outcomes may not be representative of the preferences of the population at large. We test this assertion using a compilation of post-referendum surveys encompassing 148 national referendums held in Switze…
