The combination of weathering and human activities often induce pyhisicochemical alteration on the surface of wall paintings. One of the most still largely used restoration techniques for these works of art, is based on the application of organic polymers. Due to their ability to stick detached and powdered pigments,these products provide an immediate consolidating effects. The frescoes at marine thermae discovered in 1886 during the excavation of the small thermal complex dating between the 1th and 3rd century AD, and located on the seafront of Reggio Calabria, have been collected already collapsed. They are currently part of the permanent exhibition of the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria. This paper illustrates the results of the restoration intervention, carried out in the form of an educational activity in the context of an agreement signed between the MarRC and the University of Calabria, and the results of the diagnostic investigations carried out by the IPCF-CNR of Messina and the STEBICEF department of the University of Palermo.

Isolated from its harbour by the submarine base built during World War II, Saint-Nazaire has added to its development over the last two decades, without referring to major European models. An important arts and tourist center has been built around the port zone, close to the German submarine base. The converted military structure, which is situated in an impressive public space, has been endowed with a new sense of identity. It stands out as the main element in the urban regeneration process, focusing on the cultural and tourist character of the programme and aiming to reinforce the relationship between the city and its port.

Effet colloide-protecteur d'extraits de parois de levures sur la stabilité tartrique d'une solution hydro-alcoolique modèle

<p style="text-align: justify;">L'effet colloïde-protecteur d'extraits mannoprotéiques de parois de levures vis-à-vis de la précipitation tartrique a été étudié en solution hydroalcoolique, en utilisant un IST mètre (Indice de Stabilité Tartrique).</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Nous avons montré que les deux extraits levuriens inhibaient la cristallisation du bitartrate de potassium au même titre que l'acide métatartrique et la carboxyméthylcellulose, mais à un niveau plus faible. Artykuł przedstawia zastosowanie koncepcji zależności ścieżkowej (path dependence) do analizy wybranych trajektorii rozwojowych krajów (gospodarek), które zostały omówione przez Immanuela Wallersteina w pracach na temat nowoczesnego systemu-świata. W tekście zaprezentowano podstawowe założenia zależności ścieżkowej jako zjawiska oraz jako koncepcji pozwalającej na interpretację związków przyczynowo-skutkowych w rozwoju technologii oraz w bardziej złożonych opisach rozwoju społeczno-historycznego. Następnie szczegółowej analizie poddano trzy wybrane przypadki trajektorii gospodarek w okresie powstawania nowoczesnego systemu-świata: Polski, Wenecji i Anglii.
