With the rapidly increasing number of reads produced by next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, there is a need for fast and efficient high-throughput read mappers. An edge-driven 3D region growing approach for upper airways morphology and volume evaluation in patients with Pierre Robin sequence

In this paper, a semi-automatic approach for segmentation of the upper airways is proposed. The implemented approach uses an edge-driven 3D region-growing algorithm to segment ROIs and 3D volume-rendering technique to reconstruct the 3D model of the upper airways. This method can be used to integrate information inside a medical decision support system, making it possible to enhance medical evaluation. The effectiveness of the proposed segmentation approach was evaluated using Jaccard (92.1733%) and dice (94.6441%) similarity indices and specificity (96.8895%) and sensitivity (97.6682%) rates. However, recent neurodevelopmental data indicated that this nucleus is of hypothalamic origin which is now commonly acknowledged. Upon analysing the global distribution of the highest 2 % of daily CO mixing ratios at 400 hPa derived from the MOPITT satellite instrument for 20 years (2000–2019), we very regularly detect regions with very high CO values (i.e. mixing ratios belonging to the globally highest 2 %) over the remote Northern Hemispheric (NH) Pacific. Such events of elevated CO over the upper tropospheric NH Pacific occur throughout the year with surprisingly high regularity and frequency (70 % of all days during winter, 80 % of all days during spring). This paper analyses, in general, the evolution that has had the art. 7.3 LTRHA since its introduction by the Act 3/2007, 15 march. In that way, it shows which has been the legislator´s solution about the use of assisted reproduction tecniques by homosexual women couples. Likewise, it studies which resolutions on the matter have been more relevant in the last years. All this, to set out the legislator´s failure and the need to reformulate the filiation regime in face of the challenge that assisted reproduction implies.

The personal decision about the professional future of the minor, constitutes an aspect of the development of his free personality, and, like every decision that affects him, it must be adopted considering the principle of the best interests of the child. The parents, in the exercise of parental authority, have the legal representation of their minor children, except for the acts related to the personality rights, which can be carried out by the minor child himself if he is mature enough. When personality rights and economic rights converge, it is necessary to determine the role the parents play, which in the end will always have to be the protection and respect for their children?s rights.
