On the language of the German Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch: How stable are the multiword expressions in the Civil Code? The aim of this paper is to characterize the language of the German Civil Code with a focus on multiword expressions, exploring how common these multiword expressions are in modern German and examining their replacement by other combinations. Background: According to some current guidelines, extended thromboprophylaxis after hip and knee arthroplasties is recommended. Outpatient prophylaxis with low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) is an important part of this prophylaxis, although the rates of adherence to these regimens is not known. Questions/purposes: We determined (1) the degree of nonadherence (NA) of patients with LMWH outpatient prophylaxis, and (2) whether specific independent factors explain NA. Methods: NA was determined by syringe count and by indirect and direct questions to patients. We defined six different NA indicators. Abstract Inhibitors of Apoptosis (IAPs) are a family of proteins with various biological functions including regulation of innate immunity and inflammation, cell proliferation, cell migration and apoptosis. They are characterized by the presence of at least one N-terminal baculoviral IAP repeat (BIR) domain involved in protein-protein interaction. Most of them also contain a C-terminal RING domain conferring an E3-ubiquitin ligase activity. In drosophila, IAPs are essential to ensure cell survival, preventing the uncontrolled activation of the apoptotic protease caspases. Within specialized discourse in the Italian language sports journalism communication is certainly one of the richest in anglicisms. This study investigates the influence of English on Italian sports newspaper lexicon with particular reference to the denominations of sports disciplines which are loanwords and calques from English. The corpus studied is made up of the three main Italian sports dailies - “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, the “Corriere dello Sport” and “Tuttosport” - which have been observed in their on line version through the second sixth-month period of 2006. Optimālas lingvistiskās stratēģijas paroļu un pieejas frāžu veidošanai un pielietošanai

Pētījumi par valodas lomu parolēs pārsvarā izskata tikai to drošības aspektu, jo likumsakarības lietotāju izvēlētās parolēs iespējo to efektīvu minēšanu. Šīs pētījums izskatīja paroļu lingvistiskus aspektus, to veidošanas stratēģijas, mentālus procesus, ko tās kopīgo ar parastu valodu, lietotāju zināšanu avotus, kā arī uz stratēģiju komponentu vispārējo ietekmi uz drošību. No preskriptīviem avotiem savāktas stratēģijas tika klasificētas pēc to komponentiem; lielākoties iekļaujot sevī paradigmatiskās kopas, kuru elementi var tiek manipulēti, kā arī veidot sintagmatiskās virknes.
