Semantic inhibition and dementia severity in Alzheimer’s disease

Semantic inhibition is often found to be impaired in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The sentence completion task (Hayling test) was used to investigate whether it would be useful for differentiating mild AD from moderate AD. Method: Latency responses and error scores in the automatic and inhibition parts of the test were registered in these two groups of patients and in a group of healthy older participants. The types of errors were also analysed. Group differences were analysed by ANOVA. In addition, relationships with other neuropsychological tests were reported. Kielellisen erityisvaikeuden ajatellaan olevan ensisijaisesti kielellisten taitojen ongelma. On kuitenkin todennäköistä, että kielelliseen erityisvaikeuteen liittyy myös ei-kielellisiä vaikeuksia. Tämän artikkelin tavoitteena on luoda katsaus eksekutiivisiin toimintoihin ja prosessointinopeuteen osana kielellistä erityisvaikeutta. Tutkimusten perusteella näyttää siltä, että kielelliseen erityisvaikeuteen liittyy kognitiiviseen joustavuuteen, inhibitioon, työmuistiin, tarkkaavuuteen sekä prosessointinopeuteen liittyviä vaikeuksia ainakin osalla kielihäiriöistä lapsista. Executions are one form of death that can be assumed to be maximally anxiety provoking. Words spoken by death row inmates moments before their execution can provide valuable insights into people's end-of-life communication needs and themes, conveying what individuals choose to express to others in the face of imminent death. In this focused review, we describe findings from quantitative and qualitative text analysis studies that have analyzed affective experiences and meaning-making attempts in transcriptions of actual statements made by Texas death row inmates. Lääkärijohtajan työn status praesens

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkia esimiesasemassa toimivien lääkäreiden eli lääkärijohtajien työtä ja heidän näkemyksiä työstään. Tutkimuksen tehtävänä oli lisätä ymmärrystä lääkärien johtamistyön erityispiirteistä. Tutkimuskohteena olivat ison keskussairaalan ylilääkärit sekä toimialueiden ja vastuualueiden johtajina toimivat lääkärit. Tutkimus suoritettiin laadullisena puolistrukturoituna haastattelututkimuksena, jonka analysointi suoritettiin sisällönanalyysinä teemoitteluperiaatteella. Non-family Executives in Family Businesses : a Literature Review

The role of non-family executives in family businesses is under-researched in comparison with its importance. Reviewing the existing literature serves as a startingpoint for promoting future research. Based on a literature analysis, we develop a model for the interaction process between a family owner and a non-family executive. The main contributions for the non-family executive in family business literature are presented and structured following this interaction process. Finally, potential and unanswered questions help determine directions of future research.
