Research on drama work among non-speech persons with cognitive, functional and interaction impairments is scarce. This pilot study describes a type of drama suitable for special education and care, in which daily care providers step into a sensory story with their disabled pairs. Participants focus their attention on a shared target and gain shared involvement. They get embodied knowledge in space and time. The impact of consumer local engagement on local store patronage and customer satisfaction

This paper examines the drivers of local grocery retail patronage. Drawing on institutional and social network theory literature, we develop a framework to investigate how consumers’ personal values and engagement with local communities affect their satisfaction and local store patronage. We test our model with survey data on 1504 Finnish consumers. Our results show that the relationship between customer local engagement and local retail patronage is indirect rather than direct, and it is mediated by the vitality of local services, social interaction, and consumer satisfaction.

"Kunnian hallitsema karoliinien sotilaskulttuuri Ruotsin valtakunnassa 1680-1740" Lisensiaattityössäni tarkastelen suuren Pohjan sodan (1700-21)kokeneiden suomalaisten ja ruotsalaisten karoliinisotureiden maailmankuvaa ja sen vaikutusta heidän elämäänsä. Aikakauden ihmisistä erityisesti sotilaiden koko elämänkulku määrittyi vahvasti kunnian ja kunniallisuuden kautta. Ideaalien ja lähes universaalien soturihyveiden sävyttämä kunniakoodisto ja toisaalta karu sotilaan elämä muodostivat ristiriitaisen sotilaskulttuurin, jonka normien mukaisesti karoliinit elivät usein lyhyeksi jääneen elämänsä. A Patchworking Process : Coming Together under Pandemic Conditions for Collaborative, Caring Scholarship

In the context of the COVID-19 outbreak, the authors in this special issue came together within the Massive Microscopic Sensemaking (MMS) writing project in the spring of 2020. Collectively grappling with the impact of the extended pandemic, each paper in this issue touches on experiences of social isolation, making do, and a technological reaching out under conditions of a public health crisis. This introduction describes the issue’s ‘patchwork’ development which reflects an attempt to break from traditions of academic scholarship that often fail to recognize the value of emergent, and therefore uncertain, cross-disciplinary and collective work.
Listening to and Living With Networked Media During a Pandemic

This article explores mediated listening from the perspective of intimacy during the first weeks of the coronavirus pandemic. The theoretical frame builds on the literature on listening and presence in mediated environments, audience engagement, and intimacy as meaningful connections. Methodologically, the study is connective ethnography, and the data was collected by collaborative autoethnography. Our data show that listening was an individual sensemaking strategy of the outside world and a means to form connectedness. Tutkimuksen aiheena on yhteistoiminnallisuuden yhdistäminen viidennen luokan kuvatai- detunneille luokanopettajaopiskelijan opetusharjoittelun yhteydessä. Taustalla on tavoite luokan yhteisöllisyyden tukemisesta yhteistoiminnallisuuden avulla. Tutkimuksen tehtävä- nä on a) kuvailla prosessia, jossa teoriaa soveltaen suunnitellaan ja toteutetaan yhteistoi- minnallisten kuvataidetuntien kokonaisuus sekä b) tarkastella tunneille osallistuneiden vii- dennen luokan oppilaiden näkemyksiä toteutetuista tunneista.
