Pro gradu -tutkielmassani tarkastelen Suomen uudelle yliopistolaille (2009) annettuja ristiriitaisia merkityksiä Jyväskylän yliopistoyhteisössä. Yliopistouudistus toi mukanaan merkittäviä taloudellisia ja ideologisia muutoksia suomalaiseen yliopistokenttään, ja siksi muutoksista on kiistelty paljon. Keskusteluissa on kuitenkin luonnehtinut ”yliopistouudistus hyvänä vs. pahana” -asettelu, joka ei ole paras mahdollinen tapa lähestyä uudistuksen jälkiteollisia syitä ja moninaisia seurauksia. The effect of polytechnic reform on migration

This paper examines the effect of the polytechnic reform on geographical mobility. A polytechnic, higher education reform took place in Finland in the 1990s. It gradually transformed former vocational colleges into polytechnics and also brought higher education to regions that did not have a university before. This expansion of higher education provides exogenous variation in the regional supply of higher education. The reform raised the mobility of high school graduates across local labour markets in the years after they had completed their secondary studies, which indicated increased mobility between high school and post-secondary education. Blended learning Jyväskylän yliopiston avoimessa yliopistossa kuvataan blended learningin ajatusta käsitteellä ohjauksellinen pedagogiikka. Se edustaa pedagogisia ratkaisuja, jotka tukevat opiskelijan aktiivista ja yksilöllistä oppimista sekä tarjoavat joustavia opiskelumahdollisuuksia. Toisaalta sillä ymmärretään opettajan pedagogista taitoa organisoida opetus siten, että opiskelijan oppimispolku olisi eheä, mielekäs ja tuottaisi hyviä oppimistuloksia.

Yliopistojen arviointiin ja laadunvarmistukseen on viime vuosikymmeninä kiinnitetty runsaasti huomiota eurooppalaisessa korkeakoulupolitiikassa. Varsinkin Bolognan prosessi on kiihdyttänyt keskustelua ja saanut korkeakoulujen arvioijat miettimään keinoja yhteisten laadunvarmistusjärjestelmien löytämiseksi. Myös kriittisiä ääniä uudistusvaatimuksia kohtaan on esitetty. Suomessa yliopistotason arvioinnit ovat yleistyneet 1990-luvun alusta lähtien.
