Anthropocentrism versus Ecocentrism Revisited: Theoretical Confusions and Practical Conclusions

One of the hardest questions in environmental philosophy is the debate between anthropocentric and ecocentric accounts of value. I argue that a great deal of the disagreement in this debate arises from a) misunderstanding of the concepts used in the debate and b) unfruitful reading of vaguely framed arguments. The conceptual and argumentative analysis of the debate shows that many arguments can be ignored as they either contain conceptual confusion or concern issues that are actually irrelevant to the centrism division. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman pyrkimyksenä oli ymmärtää ja analysoida Pikku Kakkosen nettiä ja erityisesti sen vuorovaikutteisia leikkejä. Pikku Kakkosen nettiä ja sen sisältöjä tarkastellaan kokonaisuutena. Tämän gradun muoto onkin työnäytegradu. Projektin tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa siitä, miten uudenlainen verkkoympäristö ja -sisällöt aktivoivat lapsia sekä miten sivuston vuorovaikutuksellisia elementtejä pystyttäisiin kehittämään edelleen. Abstract Purpose of Review The internet and virtual environments have enabled the formation of online communities around a variety of interests. Online communities focused on gambling are increasingly popular and attract users to interact and share ideas and experiences with likeminded others. This study reviews evidence from the latest research examining the role of online communities in gambling behaviors and gambling problems.
