AbstractThe influence of vagal afferents on the EMG peristaltic pattern was studied in pigeon oesophagus.Bilateral vagotomy did not abolish the primary peristalsis, but induced significant modifications of the peristaltic pattern parameters.Vagal afferent stimulation induced an inhibitory effect consisting of a temporary break or definitive block of the EMG peristaltic activity already in progress.Vagal afferent stimulation also induced a reduction of the spontaneous EMG activity and this effect was abolished either by glossopharyngeal bilateral section or ganglionic block.Likewise vagal afferent stimulation, the crop distension caused inhibitory effects on EMG peristaltic pattern. The effects of 1 year of intensive strength training on neuromuscular function were studied in elderly people operated for total endoprosthesis (n=30) divided into 3 groups: training pup 1 (TG1, n=11), training pup 2 (TG2, n=10) and control group (CG, n=9). After the operation, TG1 and TG2 trained every second day and the training was controlled by training diaries, and CG performed only conventional exercises by themselves. Programmed death-1 (PD-1) and Programmed death-1 ligand (PD-L1) regulate immune response. Previous studies associate an immune deregulation in ST-elevation myocardial infarction STEMI.
