Abstract. There has been an explosion of interest in the idea of European Union citizenship in recent years, as a defining example of postnational cosmopolitan citizenship potentially replacing, or at least layered on top of national citizenships. We argue this form of EU citizenship undermines industrial citizenship, which is a crucial support for the egalitarianism and social solidarity on which other types of citizenship are based. An examination of nonresponse in a study on daily family life: I do not have time to participate, but I can tell you something about our life

The aim of this study was to look at the issue of nonresponse and self-selection bias in the context of a family study on daily family life. Data on the participating families and refusers were gathered as part of the wider Palette study in which questionnaires and diaries were used as data collection methods. On the basis of these data (N = 208 participating families and 119 refuser families), we profile the families left outside the study. Digital generations, but not as we know them

The aim of this article is to see whether or not adolescents were the real leaders of the digital ‘revolution’ in the 1990s and whether they have sustained or even improved their position in the 2000s. The analysis is based on two surveys carried out in Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain in 1996 ( N = 6609) and in 2009 ( N = 7255). The results show that the adolescents belonging to the first digital generation in 1996 were the most equipped with new technologies, although not the most intensive users. In 2009, the adolescents lost their position as the leading adopters and lagged behind youth and young adults regarding the use of new technologies and computer skills.

The open question left by elementary particle physics about the origin of the so-called ``maximal parity-violation'' is dealt with. It is shown that an actual theoretical answer could be found within a new relativistic quantum field formalism being a strictly covariant fermion--antifermion extension of the usual one for massive fermions. Silene kemoniana, a new species of the section Dipterosperma from NW Sicily, is described and illustrated. It is a therophyte that occurs in mountains near Palermo, where it grows on Mesozoic limestones in xerophilous garigues. Its relationships with S. colorata and allied species are also examined. Cytotaxonomical investigation on Allium paniculatum ssp. exaltatum (Alliaceae) from Cyprus.

Arare Allium endemic to Cyprus island, known as A. paniculatum subsp. exaltatum, is here examined. Relevant features in its morphology, caryology and leaf anatomy emphasize the marked taxonomic isolation of this taxon and allow it to be treated as a distinct species, proposed as Allium exaltatum. It is an exaploid plant (2n=48), probably arisen out of allopolyploidy and morphologically related only to some Middle East taxa.

Artykuł dotyczy rozważań nad zjawiskiem cyberagresji w kontekście zagrożenia bezpieczeństwa cyfrowego dzieci i młodzieży. Jest to problem, którego muszą być świadome wszystkie osoby korzystające z internetu, w tym nauczyciele, aby mogli skutecznie realizować działania zwiększające kompetencje cyfrowe młodego pokolenia. Głównym celem opracowania było przedstawienie skali zjawiska cyberagresji oraz zaprezentowanie badań dotyczących świadomości występowania tego problemu wśród nauczycieli szkół gimnazjalnych z terenu miasta Opole.

Tässä artikkelissa tarkastelemme sosiaalisen median vaikuttajien seuraamisen, kaveripaineen ja sosiodemografisten muuttujien yhteyttä nuorten kulutusasenteisiin. Tutkimus pohjautuu kuluttajaksi sosiaalistumisen teorioihin sosiaalisen taustan ja muuttuvan mediavaikuttamisen kontekstissa. Tutkimusaineistona käytetään 800:lle 15-19-vuotiaalle nuorelle tehtyä kyselytutkimusta. Aineisto on analysoitu rakenneyhtälömallinnuksella. Tutkimustulosten mukaan sosiaalisen median vaikuttajien seuraamisella oli vahva yhteys materialistisiin kulutusasenteisiin, mutta ei säästäväisyyteen eikä vastuullisuuteen. A Completeness Proof for a Regular Predicate Logic with Undefined Truth Value

We provide a sound and complete proof system for an extension of Kleene's ternary logic to predicates. The concept of theory is extended with, for each function symbol, a formula that specifies when the function is defined. The notion of "is defined" is extended to terms and formulas via a straightforward recursive algorithm. The "is defined" formulas are constructed so that they themselves are always defined. The completeness proof relies on the Henkin construction. For each formula, precisely one of the formula, its negation, and the negation of its "is defined" formula is true on the constructed model.
