Introduction Injuries are the major cause of morbidity and loss of active training days in military populations. Previous investigations have mainly focused on lower extremities. This study evaluated the incidence, diagnosis, and risk factors of upper extremity injuries requiring hospitalization in a large cohort of Finnish conscripts during a 5-year period. Przedstawiono znaczenie, rozwój metod otrzymywania, kierunki zastosowania i perspektywy rozwoju poliolefin (głównie polietylenu i polipropylenu), materiałów dominujących w światowej produkcji i zużyciu tworzyw sztucznych. Scharakteryzowano oddziaływania tych polimerów na środowisko, kolejno w etapie ich wytwarzania, wykorzystywania i utylizacji odpadów poużytkowych.

Liekais svars un aptaukošanās pazemina dzīves kvalitāti un ir par iemeslu daudzām saslimšanām: diabētam, koronārajām sirds slimībām, onkoloģiskajām saslimšanām, metabolajam sindromam. Pētījuma mērķis ir izvērtēt uztura, fiziskās aktivitātes (FA) un miera vielmaiņas intensitātes (RMR) korelāciju ar ķermeņa tauku masu jaunu, pieaugušu, klīniski veselu cilvēku grupā. Pētījuma gaitā tika analizēta izmeklējamo personu 3 dienu uztura dienasgrāmata, fiziskā aktivitāte noteikta ar anketēšanas metodi, veikti antropometriskie mērījumi un reģistrēta miera vielmaiņas intensitāte ar netiešās kalorimetrijas metodi. Summary Dehydration leads to different physiological and biochemical responses in plants. We analysed the lipid composition and the expression of genes involved in lipid biosynthesis in the desiccation-tolerant plant Craterostigma plantagineum. A comparative approach was carried out with Lindernia brevidens (desiccation tolerant) and two desiccation-sensitive species, Lindernia subracemosa and Arabidopsis thaliana. In C. plantagineum the total lipid content remained constant while the lipid composition underwent major changes during desiccation. Jauniešu delinkventas uzvedības biežuma saistība ar bērna pārraudzību un pielāgošanos vienaudžiem

Jauniešu delinkvence, tās sekas uz sabiedrību un jauniešu veselību, un labklājību vienmēr ir bijuši nozīmīgi temati. Kā arī delinkvences veicinošie riska faktori, kas attiecas uz jaunieša apkārtējo vidi – ģimene un vienaudžu ietekme. Bakalaura mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas saistības ir starp delinkventu uzvedību ar bērna pārraudzību un pielāgošanos vienaudžiem jauniešu izlasē vecumā 14 – 18 gadiem. Pētījuma izlasi veido 133 jaunieši (M vecums = 16,2). Izlasi pārstāvēja 74 meitenes un 59 zēni. Šī darba ietvaros tika izmantotas trīs pētījuma metodes: Vienaudžu pielāgošanās aptauja, Vecāku pārraudzības aptauja un Delinkventas uzvedības biežuma aptauja.
