This paper takes into account the characterisation of ephemeral stream hydrology from Mediterranean environments. The heavy floods that these countries suffer are due to firstly, the physical watershed features (steep slopes, scarced vegetation cover and thin soils) and, secondly, to the intense and variable rainfall. Large quantities of precipitation fall in a matter of hours, or even minutes, over very steep catchments, causing catastrophic flash-floods, with very pointed hydrographs and short time lags. Temporal dynamics of arable weeds communities assembly : interactions between farming practices and ecological processes across crop sequences

Understanding how farming practices affect weed community assembly in arable fields is a core challenge of agro-ecology. Weeds are supposed to share particular ecological characteristics that allow them to colonize arable fields despite environmental constrains exert by farming practices. In addition, interactions between ecological processes operating during a cropping season (eg: abiotic filtering) and at the scale of crop succession (eg: temporal dispersal) are supposed to drive weed community assembly in arable fields. Understanding space in ephemeral organizations: contributions of commented walksThis article examines a particular type of ephemeral organization in which institutional and secular actors are connected resting upon on a strong territorial basis. Their fleeting quality is however compatible with a certain degree of permanency. The authors question the sources and resources of such permanency and insist on the role of space in coordinating collective action, and in this case, in preventing urban incivilities. They call on an unusual method, called Commented Walks, to capture the relation between such organizations and space.
