AN IN-VITRO COMPARISON OF GUTTA PERCHA REMOVAL EFFICIENCY WITH PROTAPER RETREATMENT FILES, RACE INSTRUMENT, AND RECIPROC R

Background: Retreatment procedures are carried out where root canal treatment of teeth fails. There are a variety of methods used to remove gutta-percha from the root canal such as hand files, rotary files, and ultrasonic instruments. Aim: An in-vitro comparison of efficiency of gutta percha removal in retreatment using protaper retreatment files, race instruments and reciproc R. Settings and Design: The present study is an in-vitro comparative study. Methods and Material: Seventy-five extracted non carious human premolar single rooted teeth were used in this study. Root Canal Treatment of these teeth was performed and obturation carried out with Gutta Percha and AH plus sealer. The specime…

Diagnosis and treatment of dens invaginatus with open apex in a young adult patient by using cone-beam computed tomography and operative microscope.

BACKGROUND: Dens invaginatus is a developmental anomaly that can affect both deciduous and permanent dentition. The anomaly is caused by the invagination of the enamel organ into the dental papilla prior to the calcification of the dental tissues. The treatment option changes according to the classification, from the simple filling of the invaginated enamel area to root canal treatment with or without retrograde surgery, intentional re-implantation, or the extraction of the affected tooth. CASE REPORT: In this study we report a case of a maxillary lateral incisor invaginatus in a young adult patient. The periapical endoral X-ray showed the presence of a periapical radiolucency in tooth 22, …

Metodi geofisici per la ricerca di cavità: caso di studio alle Cave di Marsala (TP)

Many engineering and environmental projects require geophysical exploration to minimize the geological risk connected with the presence of natural or artificial tunnels and cavities (air and/or water filled). In this paper we like to confirm the reliability of combined geophysical methodologies (GPR and ERT) and relative modelling to detect and locate cavities in a particular site (Marsala Western Sicily) where underground dug structures exist. These structures may be used as real artificial physical models, very useful for testing geophysical methodologies. These shallow sandstone caves have, in general, a rectangular shape and are interconnected by tunnels. Most of these structures can be…

CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS OF COVID-19 AND MEASURES IMPLEMENTED BY DENTAL PRACTITIONERS IN CAMBODIA

Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the changes in the attitude of dentists in Cambodia towards the pandemic and understand the newer measures implemented to restrict the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 infection. Methods: A structured self-administered questionnaire was developed at the University of Puthisastra, Phnom Penh and provided to the participants for data collection. The questionnaire was developed using Google survey to collect demographic data followed by information regarding the working conditions, newly implemented measures during the pandemic and the attitude of Cambodian dentists towards the threat of infections. Results: Out of a total of 130 dentists that wer…
