Developing cross-industry innovation capability: regional drivers and indicators within firms
ABSTRACTThe role of firms in the process of regional renewal and path development is a somewhat neglected area in the existing literature. With few exceptions, the literature is mainly concerned with aggregated development paths. To cover this gap, the current study turns its attention to cross-industry innovation capability (CIIC) building in firms and discusses how conditions for innovation and learning in a region drive this process. Knowledge bases and regional development: collaborations between higher education and cultural creative industries
This paper builds on the assumption that cooperation between higher education institutions (HEIs) and creative and cultural industries (CCIs) stimulates innovation and economic growth at the regional level. It further assumes that HEIs and CCIs hold different perspectives on their intention to cooperate with external actors and, thus, there is a need for joint arenas to develop and integrate knowledge and practices among stakeholders across academia and industry. In this book a phenomenological approach is often used to explore how objects are sensitised: the analyses explore what is happening interobjectively. Humanitarian aid, political portraits, and bequeathed objects are examples of such sensitising in the previous chapters. Chapter 9 adds an analysis of place and dwells on affective atmospheres.
