Evidence for the decay X(3872)→ψ(2S)γ
Evidence for the decay mode X(3872) -> psi(2S)gamma in B+ -> X(3872)K+ decays is found with a significance of 4.4 standard deviations. The analysis is based on a data sample of proton proton collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector, at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The ratio of the branching fraction of the X(3872) -> psi(2S)gamma decay to that of the X(3872) -> J/psi gamma decay is measured to be B(X(3872) -> psi(2S)gamma)/B(X(3872) -> J/psi gamma) = 2.46 +/- 0.64 +/- 0.29, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. First observation of a baryonic Bc+ decay
A baryonic decay of the $B_c^+$ meson, $B_c^+\to J/\psi p\overline{p}\pi^+$, is observed for the first time, with a significance of $7.3$ standard deviations, in $pp$ collision data collected with the LHCb detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0$ fb$^{-1}$ taken at center-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8$ $\mathrm{TeV}$. Search for theX(4140)state inB+→J/ψϕK+decays
We investigate the decay B+ -> J/psi phi K+ in a search for the X(4140) state, a narrow threshold resonance in the J/psi phi system. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb(-1) of p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We observe a mass peak with a statistical significance of 3.1 standard deviations and measure its invariant mass to be M = 4159.0 +/- 4.3(stat) +/- 6.6(syst) MeV and its width to be Gamma = 19.9 +/- 12.6(stat)(-8.0)(+3.0)(syst) MeV.
Study ofB−→DK−π+π−andB−→Dπ−π+π−decays and determination of the CKM angleγ
We report a study of the suppressed B- -> DK-pi(+)pi(-) and favored B- -> D pi(-)pi(+)pi(-) decays, where the neutral D meson is detected through its decays to the K--/+pi(+/-) and CP -even K+K- and pi(+)pi(-) final states. The measurement is carried out using a proton-proton collision data sample collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1). We observe the first significant signals in the CP - even final states of the D meson for both the suppressed B- -> DK-pi(+)pi(-) and favored B- -> D pi(-)pi(+)pi(-) modes, as well as in the doubly Cabibbo suppressed D -> K+pi(-) final state of the B- -> D pi(-)pi(+)pi(-) decay. Observations of Bs0→ψ(2S)η and B(s)0→ψ(2S)π+π− decays
First observations of the $B^0_s \rightarrow \psi(2S) \eta$, $B^0 \rightarrow \psi(2S) \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $B^0_s \rightarrow \psi(2S) \pi^+ \pi^-$ decays are made using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0~$fb^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV. Search forfJ(2220)in RadiativeJ/ψDecays
We present a search for f_(J)(2220) production in radiative J/ψ→γf_(J)(2220) decays using 460 fb^(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e^(+)e^(-) collider. The f_(J)(2220) is searched for in the decays to K^(+)K^(-) and K_(S)^(0)K_(S)^(0). No evidence of this resonance is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the branching fractions for J/ψ→γf_(J)(2220) and f_(J)(2220)→K^(+)K^(-)(K_(S)^(0)K_(S)^(0)) as a function of spin and helicity are set at the level of 10^(-5), below the central values reported by the Mark III experiment.
Amplitude analysis ofB0→D¯0K+π−decays
The Dalitz plot distribution of B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0(+)pi(-) decays is studied using a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. The data are described by an amplitude model that contains contributions from intermediate K* (892)(0), K*(1410)(0), K-2*(1430)(0) and D-2(*)(2460)(-) resonances. The model also contains components to describe broad structures, including the K-0(*)(1430)(0) and D-0(*)(2400)(-) resonances, in the K pi S-wave and the D pi S-and P-waves. Measurement of branching fractions ofBdecays toK1(1270)πandK1(1400)πand determination of the CKM angleαfromB0→a1(1260)±π∓
We report measurements of the branching fractions of neutral and charged B meson decays to final states containing a K_1(1270) or K_1(1400) meson and a charged pion. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, correspond to 454×10^6 BB pairs produced in e^+e^- annihilation. We measure the branching fractions B(B^0→K_1(1270)^+π-+K_1(1400)^+π-)=3.1_(-0.7)^(+0.8)×10^(-5) and B(B^+→K_1(1270)^0π^++K_1(1400)^0π^+)=2.9_(-1.7)^(+2.9)×10^(-5) (<8.2×10^(-5) at 90% confidence level), where the errors are statistical and systematic combined. First observation of the doubly charmed baryon decay Ξcc++→Ξc+π+
The doubly charmed baryon decay Ξcc++→Ξc+π+ is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance of 5.9σ, confirming a recent observation of the baryon in the Λc+K−π+π+ final state. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb−1, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The Ξcc++ mass is measured to be 3620.6±1.5(stat)±0.4(syst)±0.3(Ξc+) MeV/c2 and is consistent with the previous result. The ratio of branching fractions between the decay modes is measured to be [B(Ξcc++→Ξc+π+)×B(Ξc+→pK−π+)]/[B(Ξcc++→Λc+K−π+π+)×B(Λc+→pK−π+)]=0.035±0.009(stat)±0.003(syst).
Model-Independent Evidence forJ/ψpContributions toΛb0→J/ψpK−Decays
The data sample of Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi pK(-) decays acquired with the LHCb detector from 7 and 8 TeV pp collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), is inspected for the presence of J/psi p or J/psi K- contributions with minimal assumptions about K(-)p contributions. It is demonstrated at more than nine standard deviations that Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi pK(-) decays cannot be described with K- p contributions alone, and that J/psi K- contributions play a dominant role in this incompatibility. These model-independent results support the previously obtained model-dependent evidence for P-c(+)-> J/psi p charmonium-pentaquark states in the same data sample.
Evidence for an Excess ofB¯→D(*)τ−ν¯τDecays
Based on the full BaBar data sample, we report improved measurements of the ratios R(D(*)) = B(B -> D(*) Tau Nu)/B(B -> D(*) l Nu), where l is either e or mu. These ratios are sensitive to new physics contributions in the form of a charged Higgs boson. We measure R(D) = 0.440 +- 0.058 +- 0.042 and R(D*) = 0.332 +- 0.024 +- 0.018, which exceed the Standard Model expectations by 2.0 sigma and 2.7 sigma, respectively. Taken together, our results disagree with these expectations at the 3.4 sigma level. This excess cannot be explained by a charged Higgs boson in the type II two-Higgs-doublet model. We also report the observation of the decay B -> D Tau Nu, with a significance of 6.8 sigma.
Measurement ofCPviolation inBs0→ϕϕdecays
A measurement of the decay time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry in B-s(0) -> phi phi decays is presented, along with measurements of the T-odd triple-product asymmetries. In this decay channel, the CP-violating weak phase arises from the interference between B-s(0) -(B) over bar (0)(s) mixing and the loop-induced decay amplitude. Using a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector, a signal yield of approximately 4000 B-s(0) -> phi phi decays is obtained. The CP-violating phase is measured to be phi(s) = -0.17 +/- 0.15(stat) +/- 0.03(syst) rad. The triple-product asymmetries are measured to be A(U) = -0.003…
B-meson decays toη′ρ,η′f0, andη′K*
We present measurements of B-meson decays to the final states η′ρ, η′f_0, and η′K*, where K* stands for a vector, scalar, or tensor strange meson. We observe a significant signal or evidence for η′ρ^+ and all the η′K* channels. We also measure, where applicable, the charge asymmetries, finding results consistent with no direct CP violation in all cases. The measurements are performed on a data sample consisting of 467 × 10^6 BB(overbar) pairs, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^- collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Our results favor the theoretical predictions from perturbative QCD and QCD factorization and we observe an enhancement of the tensor K*_2(143…
Antideuteron production inϒ(nS)decays and ine+e−→qq¯ats≈10.58 GeV
We present measurements of the inclusive production of antideuterons in e^+e^− annihilation into hadrons at ≈10.58 GeV center-of-mass energy and in Υ(1S,2S,3S) decays. The results are obtained using data collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II electron-positron collider. Assuming a fireball spectral shape for the emitted antideuteron momentum, we find B(Υ(1S)→d[bar]X)=(2.81±0.49(stat)^(+0.20)_(−0.24)(syst))×10^(−5), B(Υ(2S)→d[bar]X)=(2.64±0.11(stat)^(+0.26)(−0.21)(syst))×10^(−5), B(Υ(3S)→d[bar]X)=(2.33±0.15(stat)^(+0.31)_(−0.28)(syst))×10^(−5), and σ(e^+e^− →d[bar]X)=(9.63±0.41(stat)^(+1.17)_(−1.01)(syst) fb.
Measurement of theB0→π−ℓ+νandB+→η(′)ℓ+νbranching fractions, theB0→π−ℓ+νandB+→ηℓ+νform-factor shapes, and determination of|Vub|
We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B^+ → η^((′))l^+ν and B^0 → π^-l^+ν, undertaken with approximately 464 × 10^6 BB pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions for B^+ → ηl^+ν and B^0 → π^-l^+ν decays in three and 12 bins of q^2, respectively, from which we extract the f_+(q^2) form-factor shapes and the total branching fractions B(B^+ → ηl^+ν)=(0.36 ± 0.05_(stat) ± 0.04_(syst))× 10^(-4) and B(B^0 → π^-l^+ν)=(1.42 ± 0.05_(stat) ± 0.07_(syst)) × 10^(-4). Measurement of the branching fractions of the radiative leptonicτdecaysτ→eγνν¯andτ→μγνν¯atBABAR
We perform a measurement of the $\ensuremath{\tau}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}l\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ ($l=e,\ensuremath{\mu}$) branching fractions for a minimum photon energy of 10 MeV in the $\ensuremath{\tau}$ rest frame, using $431\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions collected at the center-of-mass energy of the $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Upsilon}}(4S)$ resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage rings. First Observation ofD0−D¯0Oscillations inD0→K+π−π+π−Decays and Measurement of the Associated Coherence Parameters
Charm meson oscillations are observed in a time-dependent analysis of the ratio of D0→K+π−π+π− to D0→K−π+π−π+ decay rates, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0fb−1 recorded by the LHCb experiment. The measurements presented are sensitive to the phase-space averaged ratio of doubly Cabibbo-suppressed to Cabibbo-favoured amplitudes rK3πD and the product of the coherence factor RK3πD and a charm mixing parameter y′K3π. The constraints measured are rK3πD=(5.67±0.12)×10−2, which is the most precise determination to date, and RK3πD⋅y′K3π=(0.3±1.8)×10−3, which provides useful input for determinations of the CP-violating phase γ in B±→DK±,D→K∓π±π∓π± decays. Measurement of the resonant andCPcomponents inB¯0→J/ψπ+π−decays
The resonant structure of the reaction (B) over bar (0) --> J/psi pi(+)pi(-) is studied using data from 3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected by the LHCb experiment, one third at 7 TeV center-of-mass energy and the remainder at 8 TeV. The invariant mass of the pi(+)pi(-) pair and three decay angular distributions are used to determine the fractions of the resonant and nonresonant components. Six interfering pi(+)pi(-) states, rho(770), f(0)(500), f(2)(1270), rho(1450), omega(782) and rho(1700), are required to give a good description of invariant mass spectra and decay angular distributions. Search for the decayD0→γγand measurement of the branching fraction forD0→π0π0
We search for the rare decay of the D^0 meson to two photons, D^0→γγ, and present a measurement of the branching fraction for a D^0 meson decaying to two neutral pions, B(D^0→π^0π^0). The data sample analyzed corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 470.5 fb^(-1) collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider at SLAC. We place an upper limit on the branching fraction, B(D^0→γγ)<2.2×10^(-6), at 90% confidence level. This limit improves on the existing limit by an order of magnitude. We also find B(D^0→π^0π^0)=(8.4±0.1±0.4±0.3)×10^(-4).
Measurement of theB¯s0Meson Lifetime inDs+π−Decays
The first measurement of the effective lifetime of the (B) over bar (o)(s) meson in the decay (B) over bar (o)(s) -> D-s(-) D-s(+) is reported using a proton-proton collision data set, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment. The measured value of the (B) over bar (o)(s) -> D-s(-) D-s(+) effective lifetime is 1.379 +/- 0.026 +/- 0.017 ps, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This lifetime translates into a measurement of the decay width of the light (B) over bar (o)(s) mass eigenstate of Gamma(L) 0.725 +/- 0.014 +/- 0.009 ps(-1). Search for Hidden-Sector Bosons inB0→K*0μ+μ−Decays
A search is presented for hidden-sector bosons, $\chi$, produced in the decay ${B^0\!\to K^*(892)^0\chi}$, with $K^*(892)^0\!\to K^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $\chi\!\to\mu^+\mu^-$. The search is performed using $pp$-collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. No significant signal is observed in the accessible mass range $214 \leq m({\chi}) \leq 4350$ MeV, and upper limits are placed on the branching fraction product $\mathcal{B}(B^0\!\to K^*(892)^0\chi)\times\mathcal{B}(\chi\!\to\mu^+\mu^-)$ as a function of the mass and lifetime of the $\chi$ boson. Search for Long-Lived Particles ine+e−Collisions
We present a search for a neutral, long-lived particle L that is produced in e^+e^− collisions and decays at a significant distance from the e^+e^− interaction point into various flavor combinations of two oppositely charged tracks. The analysis uses an e^+e^− data sample with a luminosity of 489.1 fb^(−1) collected by the BABAR detector at the Υ(4S), Υ(3S), and Υ(2S) resonances and just below the Υ(4S). Fitting the two-track mass distribution in search of a signal peak, we do not observe a significant signal, and set 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the L production cross section, branching fraction, and reconstruction efficiency for six possible two-body L decay modes …
Measurement ofBc+Production in Proton-Proton Collisions ats=8 TeV
Production of B+c mesons in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8~TeV is studied with data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb−1 recorded by the LHCb experiment. The ratio of production cross-sections times branching fractions between the B+c→J/ψπ+ and B+→J/ψK+ decays is measured as a function of transverse momentum and rapidity in the regions 0<pT<20 GeV/c and 2.0<y<4.5. The ratio integrated within this kinematic range is measured to be (0.683±0.018±0.009)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
Study of the reactione+e−→J/ψπ+π−via initial-state radiation atBABAR
We study the process e +e -→J/ψπ +π - with initial-state-radiation events produced at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy collider. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies 10.58 and 10.54 GeV, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 454fb -1. We investigate the J/ψπ +π - mass distribution in the region from 3.5 to 5.5GeV/c2. Below 3.7GeV/c2 the ψ(2S) signal dominates, and above 4GeV/c2 there is a significant peak due to the Y(4260). A fit to the data in the range 3.74-5.50GeV/c2 yields a mass value 4245±5(stat)±4(syst)MeV/c2 and a width value 114-15+16(stat) ±7(syst)MeV for this state. Study of Beauty Hadron Decays into Pairs of Charm Hadrons
First observations of the decays Λ[0 over b] → Λ[+ over c]D[− over (s)] are reported using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb[superscript −1] collected at 7 and 8 TeV center-of-mass energies in proton-proton collisions with the LHCb detector. In addition, the most precise measurement of the branching fraction B(B[0 over s] → D[superscript +]D[− over s]) is made and a search is performed for the decays B[0 over (s)] → Λ[+ over c]Λ[− over c]. Measurement ofCPasymmetries and branching fractions in charmless two-bodyB-meson decays to pions and kaons
We present improved measurements of CP-violation parameters in the decays B^0→π^+π^-, B^0→K^+π^-, and B^0→π^0π^0, and of the branching fractions for B^0→π^0π^0 and B^0→K^0π^0. The results are obtained with the full data set collected at the Υ(4S) resonance by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, corresponding to (467±5)×10^6 BB pairs. Updated determination of D0–D¯0 mixing and CP violation parameters with D0→K+π− decays
We report measurements of charm-mixing parameters based on the decay-time-dependent ratio of D0→K+π- to D0→K-π+ rates. The analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb-1 recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2011 through 2016. Assuming charge-parity (CP) symmetry, the mixing parameters are determined to be x′2=(3.9±2.7)×10-5, y′=(5.28±0.52)×10-3, and RD=(3.454±0.031)×10-3. Without this assumption, the measurement is performed separately for D0 and D¯0 mesons, yielding a direct CP-violating asymmetry AD=(-0.1±9.1)×10-3, and magnitude of the ratio of mixing parameters 1.00<|q/p|<1.35 at the 68.3% confidence level. Precision luminosity measurements at LHCb
Measuring cross-sections at the LHC requires the luminosity to be determined accurately at each centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$. In this paper results are reported from the luminosity calibrations carried out at the LHC interaction point 8 with the LHCb detector for $\sqrt{s}$ = 2.76, 7 and 8 TeV (proton-proton collisions) and for $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5 TeV (proton-lead collisions). Both the "van der Meer scan" and "beam-gas imaging" luminosity calibration methods were employed. It is observed that the beam density profile cannot always be described by a function that is factorizable in the two transverse coordinates. First observation of the rareB+→D+K+π−decay
The B+→D+K+π- decay is observed in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb-1 of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. The signal significance is 8σ and the branching fraction is measured to be B(B+→D+K+π-)=(5.31±0.90±0.48±0.35)×10-6, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic and due to the normalization mode B+→D-K+π+, respectively. The Dalitz plot appears to be dominated by broad structures. Angular distributions are exploited to search for quasi-two-body contributions from B+→D2∗(2460)0K+ and B+→D+K∗(892)0 decays. No significant signals are observed and upper limits are set on their branching fractions.
Bottomonium spectroscopy and radiative transitions involving theχbJ(1P,2P)states atBaBar
We use (121±1) million Υ(3S) and (98±1) million Υ(2S) mesons recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^− collider at SLAC to perform a study of radiative transitions involving the χ_(bJ)(1P,2P) states in exclusive decays with μ^+μ^−γγ final states. We reconstruct twelve channels in four cascades using two complementary methods. Dalitz plot analysis ofBs0→D¯0K−π+decays
The resonant substructure of B-s(0) -> (D) over bar K-0(-)pi(+) decays is studied with the Dalitz plot analysis technique. The study is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by LHCb. A structure at m((D) over bar K-0(-)) approximate to 2.86 GeV/c(2) is found to be an admixture of spin-1 and spin-3 resonances. The masses and widths of these states and of the D-s2*(2573)(-) meson are measured, as are the complex amplitudes and fit fractions for all the (D) over bar K-0(-) and K-pi(-) components included in the amplitude model. In addition, the D-s2*(2573)(-) resonance is confirmed to be spin 2.
Search for a Dark Photon ine+e−Collisions atBaBar
Dark sectors charged under a new Abelian interaction have recently received much attention in the context of dark matter models. These models introduce a light new mediator, the so-called dark photon (A^{'}), connecting the dark sector to the standard model. We present a search for a dark photon in the reaction e^{+}e^{-}→γA^{'}, A^{'}→e^{+}e^{-}, μ^{+}μ^{-} using 514 fb^{-1} of data collected with the BABAR detector. Improved limits onB0decays to invisible(+γ)final states
We establish improved upper limits on branching fractions for B-0 decays to final states where the decay products are purely invisible (i.e., no observable final state particles) and for final states where the only visible product is a photon. Within the Standard Model, these decays have branching fractions that are below the current experimental sensitivity, but various models of physics beyond the Standard Model predict significant contributions for these channels. Observation of charmless baryonic decays B(s)0→pp¯h+h′−
Decays of B0 and Bs0 mesons to the charmless baryonic final states pp¯h+h′-, where h and h′ each denote a kaon or a pion, are searched for using the LHCb detector. Measurement ofB(B→Xsγ), theB→Xsγphoton energy spectrum, and the directCPasymmetry inB→Xs+dγdecays
The photon spectrum in B → X_sγ decay, where X_s is any strange hadronic state, is studied using a data sample of (382.8±4.2) × 10^6 e^+e^- → Υ(4S) → BB events collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II collider. The spectrum is used to measure the branching fraction B(B → X_sγ)=(3.21±0.15±0.29±0.08) × 10^(-4) and the first, second, and third moments ⟨E_γ⟩=2.267±0.019±0.032±0.003 GeV, ⟨(E_γ-⟨E_γ⟩)^2⟩=0.0484±0.0053±0.0077±0.0005 GeV^2, and ⟨(E_γ-⟨E_γ⟩)^3⟩=-0.0048±0.0011±0.0011±0.0004 GeV^3, for the range E_γ > 1.8 GeV, where E_γ is the photon energy in the B-meson rest frame. Model-independent search for the decay B^{+}→l^{+}ν_{l}γ
We present a search for the radiative leptonic decay B^+ → l^+ν_lγ, where l = e, μ, using a data sample of 465 × 10^6 BB(overbar) pairs collected by the BABAR experiment. In this analysis, we fully reconstruct the hadronic decay of one of the B mesons in Υ(4S) → B^+B^- decays, then search for evidence of B^+ → l^+ν_lγ in the rest of the event. We observe no significant evidence of signal decays and report model-independent branching fraction upper limits of B(B^+ → e^+ν_eγ) < 17 × 10^(-6), B(B^+ → μ^+ν_μγ) < 24 × 10^(-6), and B(B^+ → l^+ν_lγ) < 15.6 × 10^(-6) (l= e or μ), all at the 90% confidence level.
Search for Structure in theBs0π±Invariant Mass Spectrum
The $B_s^0\pi^\pm$ invariant mass distribution is investigated in order to search for possible exotic meson states. The analysis is based on a data sample recorded with the LHCb detector corresponding to $3$ fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ and $8$ TeV. No significant excess is found, and upper limits are set on the production rate of the claimed $X(5568)$ state. Upper limits are also set as a function of the mass and width of a possible exotic meson decaying to the $B_s^0\pi^\pm$ final state.

First observation and amplitude analysis of theB−→D+K−π−decay
The B- -> D+K-pi(-) decay is observed in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. Measurement of the lifetime of theBc+meson using theBc+→J/ψπ+decay mode
The difference in total widths between the B+c and B+ mesons is measured using 3.0fb−1 of data collected by the LHCb experiment in 7 and 8 TeV centre-of-mass energy proton-proton collisions at the LHC. Through the study of the time evolution of B+c→J/ψπ+ and B+→J/ψK+ decays, the width difference is measured to beΔΓ≡ΓB+c−ΓB+=4.46±0.14±0.07mm−1c,where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The known lifetime of the B+ meson is used to convert this to a precise measurement of the B+c lifetime,τB+c=513.4±11.0±5.7fs,where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
Measurement of the SemileptonicCPAsymmetry inB0-B¯0Mixing

The polarization of photons produced in radiative $B^{0}_{s}$ decays is studied for the first time. The data are recorded by the LHCb experiment in $pp$ collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3fb$^{-1}$ at center-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8$TeV. A time-dependent analysis of the $B^{0}_{s} \to \phi \gamma$ decay rate is conducted to determine the parameter ${\mathcal{A}}^\Delta$, which is related to the ratio of right- over left-handed photon polarization amplitudes in $b \to s \gamma$ transitions. Measurement of the time-dependentCPasymmetry of partially reconstructedB0→D*+D*−decays
We present a new measurement of the time-dependent CP asymmetry of B0->D*+D*- decays using (471+-5) million BBbar pairs collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II B Factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Using the technique of partial reconstruction, we measure the time-dependent CP asymmetry parameters S=-0.34+-0.12+-0.05$ and C=+0.15+-0.09+-0.04. Using the value for the CP-odd fraction R_perp=0.158+-0.028+-0.006, previously measured by BaBar with fully reconstructed B0->D*+D*- events, we extract the CP-even components S+=-0.49+-0.18+-0.07+-0.04 and C+=+0.15+-0.09+-0.04. Search for newπ0-like particles produced in association with aτ-lepton pair
We report on a search in e^+e^− annihilations for new π^0-like particles produced in association with a τ-lepton pair. These objects, with a similar mass and similar decay modes to π^0 mesons, could provide an explanation for the non-asymptotic behavior of the pion-photon transition form factor observed by the BABAR Collaboration. No significant signal is observed, and limits on the production cross section at the level of 73 fb or 370 fb, depending on the model parameters, are determined at 90% confidence level. These upper limits lie below the cross section values needed to explain the BABAR form factor data.
Measurement ofCPviolation parameters inB0→DK*0decays
An analysis of B0→DK*0 decays is presented, where D represents an admixture of D0 and D¯0 mesons reconstructed in four separate final states: K−π+, π−K+, K+K− and π+π−. The data sample corresponds to 3.0 fb−1 of proton-proton collision, collected by the LHCb experiment. Measurements of several observables are performed, including CP asymmetries. The most precise determination is presented of rB(DK*0), the magnitude of the ratio of the amplitudes of the decay B0→DK+π− with a b→u or a b→c transition, in a Kπ mass region of ±50 MeV/c2 around the K∗(892) mass and for an absolute value of the cosine of the K*0 helicity angle larger than 0.4.
Searches for Lepton Flavor Violation in the Decaysτ±→e±γandτ±→μ±γ
Searches for lepton-flavor-violating decays of a tau lepton to a lighter mass lepton and a photon have been performed with the entire data set of (963 +/- 7) x 10(6) tau decays collected by the BABAR detector near the Y(4S), Y(3S) and Y(2S) resonances. The searches yield no evidence of signals and we set upper limits on the branching fractions of B(tau(+/-) -> e(+/-)gamma) mu(+/-)gamma) < 4.4 X 10(-8) at 90% confidence level.
Search for CP violation inD0→π−π+π0decays with the energy test
A search for time-integrated CP violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay D-0 -> pi(-)pi(+)pi(0) ir is performed using for the first time an unbinned model-independent technique known as the energy test. Using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 8 TeV, the world's best sensitivity to CP violation in this decay is obtained. Evidence for Exotic Hadron Contributions toΛb0→J/ψpπ−Decays
A full amplitude analysis of $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi p \pi^-$ decays is performed with a data sample acquired with the LHCb detector from 7 and 8 TeV $pp$ collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$. Observation of the baryonic decayB¯0→Λc+p¯K−K+
We report the observation of the baryonic decay B^0 → Λ^+_c pK^−K^+ using a data sample of 471×10^6 BB pairs produced in e^+e^− annihilations at √s = 10.58 GeV. This data sample was recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring at SLAC. We find B(B^0 → Λ^+_c pK^−K^+)=(2.5±0.4_((stat))±0.2_((syst))± 0.6_(B(Λ^+_c)))×10^(−5), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the uncertainty of the Λ^+_c →p K^−π^+ branching fraction, respectively. Study ofCPviolation in Dalitz-plot analyses ofB0→K+K−KS0,B+→K+K−K+, andB+→KS0KS0K+
We perform amplitude analyses of the decays B0→K +K -KS0, B +→K +K -K +, and B +→KS0KS0K +, and measure CP-violating parameters and partial branching fractions. The results are based on a data sample of approximately 470×106 BB decays, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. For B +→K +K -K +, we find a direct CP asymmetry in B +→(1020)K + of A CP=(12.8±4.4±1.3)%, which differs from zero by 2.8σ. Measurement of resonant andCPcomponents inB¯s0→J/ψπ+π−decays
Structure of the decay Bs0→J/ψπ+π- is studied using data corresponding to 3fb-1 of integrated luminosity from pp collisions produced by the LHC and collected by the LHCb detector. Five interfering π+π- states are required to describe the decay: f0(980),f0(1500),f0(1790),f2(1270), and f2′(1525). An alternative model including these states and a nonresonant J/ψπ+π- component also provides a good description of the data. Based on the different transversity components measured for the spin-2 intermediate states, the final state is found to be compatible with being entirely CP odd. Search for lepton-number violatingB+→X−ℓ+ℓ′+decays
We report on a search for eleven lepton-number violating processes B^+→X^−l^+l'^+ with X^−=K^−, π^−, ρ^−, K^(*−), or D^− and l^+/l'^+=e^+ or μ^+, using a sample of 471±3 million BB events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^− collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find no evidence for any of these modes and place 90% confidence level upper limits on their branching fractions in the range (1.5–26)×10_(−7).
Study of the rare Bs0 and B0 decays into the π+π−μ+μ− final state
A search for the rare decays B0s→π+π−μ+μ− and B0→π+π−μ+μ− is performed in a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb−1 collected by the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Search for the decay modesD0→e+e−,D0→μ+μ−, andD0→e±μ∓
We present searches for the rare decay modes D^0→e^+e^-, D^0→μ^+μ^-, and D^0→e^±μ^∓ in continuum e^+e^-→cc events recorded by the BABAR detector in a data sample that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 468 fb^(-1). These decays are highly Glashow–Iliopoulos–Maiani suppressed but may be enhanced in several extensions of the standard model. Our observed event yields are consistent with the expected backgrounds. An excess is seen in the D^0→μ^+μ^- channel, although the observed yield is consistent with an upward background fluctuation at the 5% level. Observations of exotic structures in the J/ψp channel, that we refer to as pentaquark-charmonium states, in Λ0b→J/ψK−p decays are presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3/fb acquired with the LHCb detector from 7 and 8 TeV pp collisions. An amplitude analysis is performed on the three-body final-state that reproduces the two-body mass and angular distributions. To obtain a satisfactory fit of the structures seen in the J/ψp mass spectrum, it is necessary to include two Breit-Wigner amplitudes that each describe a resonant state. Study ofB→πlνandB→ρlνdecays and determination of|Vub|
We present an analysis of exclusive charmless semileptonic B-meson decays based on 377×106 BB pairs recorded with the BABAR detector at the Υ(4S) resonance. We select four event samples corresponding to the decay modes B0→π-l+ν, B+→π0l+ν, B0→ρ-l+ν, and B+→ρ0l+ν and find the measured branching fractions to be consistent with isospin symmetry. Assuming isospin symmetry, we combine the two B→πlν samples, and similarly the two B→ρlν samples, and measure the branching fractions B(B0→π-l+ν)=(1.41±0.05±0.07)×10-4 and B(B0→ρ-l+ν)=(1.75±0.15±0.27)×10-4, where the errors are statistical and systematic. Measurement of Collins asymmetries in inclusive production of charged pion pairs ine+e−annihilation atBABAR
We present measurements of Collins asymmetries in the inclusive process e^+e^−→ππX, where π stands for charged pions, at a center-of-mass energy of 10.6 GeV. We use a data sample of 468 fb^(−1) collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II B factory at SLAC, and consider pairs of charged pions produced in opposite hemispheres of hadronic events. We observe clear asymmetries in the distributions of the azimuthal angles in two distinct reference frames. We study the dependence of the asymmetry on several kinematic variables, finding that it increases with increasing pion momentum and momentum transverse to the analysis axis, and with increasing angle between the thrust and beam axis.
Study of thee+e−→K+K−reaction in the energy range from 2.6 to 8.0 GeV
The e^+e^− → K^+K^− cross section and charged-kaon electromagnetic form factor are measured in the e^+e^− center-of-mass energy range (E) from 2.6 to 8.0 GeV using the initial-state radiation technique with an undetected photon. Effective lifetime measurements in theBs0→K+K−,B0→K+π−andBs0→π+K−decays
Measurements of the effective lifetimes in the B-s(0) -> K+K-, B-0 -> K+pi(-) and B-s(0) -> pi K-+(-) decays are presented using 1.0 fb(-1)of pp collision data collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV by the LHCb experiment. The analysis uses a data-driven approach to correct for the decay time acceptance. The measured effective lifetimes are tau(Bs0 -> K+K-) = 1.407 +/- 0.016 (stat) +/- 0.007 (syst) ps, tau(Bs0 -> K+pi-) = 1.524 +/- 0.011 (stat) +/- 0.004 (syst) ps, tau(Bs0 ->pi+K-) = 1.60 +/- 0.06 (stat) +/- 0.01 (syst) ps. Collins asymmetries in inclusive chargedKKandKπpairs produced ine+e−annihilation
We present measurements of Collins asymmetries in the inclusive process e^+e^− → h_1h_2X, h_1h_2 = KK, Kπ, ππ, at the center-of-mass energy of 10.6 GeV, using a data sample of 468 fb^(−1) collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II B factory at SLAC National Accelerator Center. Considering hadrons in opposite thrust hemispheres of hadronic events, we observe clear azimuthal asymmetries in the ratio of unlike sign to like sign, and unlike sign to all charged h_1h_2 pairs, which increase with hadron energies. The Kπ asymmetries are similar to those measured for the ππ pairs, whereas those measured for high-energy KK pairs are, in general, larger.
Correlated leading baryon-antibaryon production ine+e−→cc¯→Λc+Λ¯c−X
We present a study of 649 +/- 35 e(+)e(-) -> c (c) over bar events produced at root s approximate to 10.6 GeV containing both Lambda(+)(c) baryon and a (Lambda) over bar (-)(c) antibaryon. The number observed is roughly 4 times that expected if the leading charmed hadron types are uncorrelated, confirming an observation by the CLEO Collaboration. We find a 2-jet topology in these events but very few additional baryons, demonstrating that the primary c and (c) over bar are predominantly contained in a correlated baryon-antibaryon system. In addition to the charmed baryons we observe on average 2.6 +/- 0.2 charged intermediate mesons, predominantly pions, carrying 65% of the remaining energy.
Studies of the resonance structure inD0→KS0K±π∓decays
Amplitude models are constructed to describe the resonance structure of D0→ K-π+π+π- and D0→ K+π-π-π+ decays using pp collision data collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV with the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb- 1. The largest contributions to both decay amplitudes are found to come from axial resonances, with decay modes D0→ a1(1260) +K- and D0→ K1(1270 / 1400) +π- being prominent in D0→ K-π+π+π- and D0→ K+π-π-π+, respectively. We report the observation of the D^∗_(s1)(2700)^+ resonance in these two channels and obtain measurements of the mass M(D^∗_(s1)(2700)+)=2699^(+14)_(−7) MeV/c^2 and of the width Γ(D^∗_(s1)(2700)+)=127^(+24)_(−19) MeV, including statistical and systematic uncertainties. In addition, we observe an enhancement in the D^0K^+ invariant mass around 2350–2500 MeV/c^2 in both decays B^0→D^−D^0K^+ and B^+→D^0D^0K^+, which we are not able to interpret. Precision Measurement ofCPViolation inBS0→J/ΨK+K−Decays
The time-dependent CP asymmetry in B-S(0) -> J/Psi K+K- decays is measured using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. In a sample of 96 000 B-S(0) -> J/Psi K+K- decays, the CP-violating phase phi(s) is measured, as well as the decay widths GL and GH of the light and heavy mass eigenstates of the B-s(0)-(B) over bar (0)(s) system. The values obtained are phi(s) = -0.058 +/- 0.049 +/- 0.006 rad, Gamma(s) equivalent to (Gamma(L) + Gamma(H))/2 = 0.6603 +/- 0.0027 +/- 0.0015 ps(-1), and Delta Gamma(s) equivalent to Gamma(L)-Gamma(H) = 0.0805 +/- 0.0091 +/- 0.0032 ps(-1), where the f…
Evidence for the Strangeness-Changing Weak DecayΞb−→Λb0π−
Using a pp collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb^{-1}, collected by the LHCb detector, we present the first search for the strangeness-changing weak decay Ξ_{b}^{-}→Λ_{b}^{0}π^{-}. No b hadron decay of this type has been seen before. A signal for this decay, corresponding to a significance of 3.2 standard deviations, is reported. The relative rate is measured to be f_{Ξ_{b}^{-}}/f_{Λ_{b}^{0}}B(Ξ_{b}^{-}→Λ_{b}^{0}π^{-})=(5.7±1.8_{-0.9}^{+0.8})×10^{-4},where f_{Ξ_{b}^{-}} and f_{Λ_{b}^{0}} are the b→Ξ_{b}^{-} and b→Λ_{b}^{0} fragmentation fractions, and B(Ξ_{b}^{-}→Λ_{b}^{0}π^{-}) is the branching fraction. Exclusive production ofDs+Ds−,Ds*+Ds−, andDs*+Ds*−viae+e−annihilation with initial-state radiation
We perform a study of exclusive production of D{sub s}{sup +}D{sub s}{sup -}, D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup -}, and D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup *-} final states in initial-state-radiation events from e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilations at a center-of-mass energy near 10.58 GeV, to search for charmonium 1{sup --} states. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 525 fb{sup -1} and was recorded by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II storage ring. The D{sub s}{sup +}D{sub s}{sup -}, D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup -}, and D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup *-} mass spectra show evidence of the known {psi} resonances. Study of the decayB¯0→Λc+p¯π+π−and its intermediate states
We study the decay B^0→Λ_c^+p π^+π^-, reconstructing the Λ_c^+ baryon in the pK^-π^+ mode, using a data sample of 467×10^6 BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage rings at SLAC. Measurement of the Ratio of Branching FractionsB(B¯0→D*+τ−ν¯τ)/B(B¯0→D*+μ−ν¯μ)
The branching fraction ratio R(D-*) = B((B) over bar (0) -> D-*(+)tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau))/B((B) over bar (0) -> D-*(+)mu(-)(nu) over bar (mu)) is measured using a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. The tau lepton is identified in the decay mode tau(-) -> mu(-)(nu) over bar (mu)nu(tau). Search for weakly decaying b -flavored pentaquarks
Investigations of the existence of pentaquark states containing a single $b$ (anti)quark decaying weakly into four specific final states J/$\psi K^+\pi^- p$, J/$\psi K^- \pi^- p$, J/$\psi K^- \pi^+ p$, and $J/\psi \phi (1020) p$ are reported. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0/fb in 7 and 8 TeV pp collisions acquired with the LHCb detector. Signals are not observed and upper limits are set on the product of the production cross section times branching fraction with respect to that of the $\Lambda_b$.
Model-independent confirmation of theZ(4430)−state
The decay $B^0\to \psi(2S) K^+\pi^-$ is analyzed using $\rm 3~fb^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data collected with the LHCb detector. A model-independent description of the $\psi(2S) \pi$ mass spectrum is obtained, using as input the $K\pi$ mass spectrum and angular distribution derived directly from data, without requiring a theoretical description of resonance shapes or their interference. The hypothesis that the $\psi(2S)\pi$ mass spectrum can be described in terms of $K\pi$ reflections alone is rejected with more than 8$\sigma$ significance. Evidence for thehb(1P)meson in the decayΥ(3S)→π0hb(1P)
Using a sample of 122×10^6 Υ(3S) events recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at SLAC, we search for the h_b(1P) spin-singlet partner of the P-wave χ_(bJ)(1P) states in the sequential decay Υ(3S)→π^0h_b(1P), hb(1P)→γη_b(1S). We observe an excess of events above background in the distribution of the recoil mass against the π0 at mass 9902±4(stat)±2(syst) MeV/c^2. The width of the observed signal is consistent with experimental resolution, and its significance is 3.1σ, including systematic uncertainties. We obtain the value (4.3±1.1(stat)±0.9(syst))×10^(-4) for the product branching fraction B(Υ(3S)→π^0h_b)×B(h_b→γη_b).
Study ofB±,0→J/ψK+K−K±,0and search forB0→J/ψϕatBaBar
We study the rare B meson decays B{+-,0} --> J/\psi\ K^+ K^- K{+-,0}, B{+-,0} --> J/\psi\ \phi\ K{+-,0}, and search for B0 --> J/\psi\ \phi, using 469 million BBbar events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. We present new measurements of branching fractions and a study of the J/\psi\phi mass distribution in search of new charmonium-like states. In addition, we search for the decay B0 --> J/\psi\ \phi, and find no evidence of a signal.
Dalitz plot analysis ofB0→D¯0π+π−decays
The resonant substructures of $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 \pi^+\pi^-$ decays are studied with the Dalitz plot technique. In this study a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions collected by the LHCb detector is used. The branching fraction of the $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 \pi^+\pi^-$ decay in the region $m(\overline{D}^0\pi^{\pm})>2.1$ GeV$/c^2$ is measured to be $(8.46 \pm 0.14 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.40) \times 10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the last arises from the normalisation channel $B^0 \to D^*(2010)^-\pi^+$. Determination of γ and−2βsfrom charmless two-body decays of beauty mesons
Using the latest LHCb measurements of time-dependent CP violation in the B-s(0) -> K+K- decay, a U-spin relation between the decay amplitudes of B-s(0) -> K+K- and B-0 -> p(+)p(-) decay processes allows constraints to be placed on the angle gamma of the unitarity triangle and on the B-s(0) mixing phase -2 beta(s). Results from an extended approach, which uses additional inputs on B-0 -> pi(0)pi(0) and B+ -> pi(+)pi(0) decays from other experiments and exploits isospin symmetry, are also presented. Evidence is presented for the baryonic $B$ meson decay $\bar{B}\rightarrow D^0 \Lambda \bar{\Lambda}$ based on a data sample of $471 \times 10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected with the {\it BABAR} detector at the PEP2 asymmetric $e^+e^-$ collider located at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Search for direct CP violation in D0→h−h+ modes using semileptonic B decays
A search for direct CP violation in D0 -> h- h+ (where h=K or pi) is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb^-1 collected in 2011 by LHCb in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The analysis uses D0 mesons produced in inclusive semileptonic b-hadron decays to the D0 mu X final state, where the charge of the accompanying muon is used to tag the flavour of the D0 meson. The difference in the CP-violating asymmetries between the two decay channels is measured to be Delta A_CP = A_CP(K-K+) - A_CP(pi-pi+) = (0.49 +- 0.30 (stat) +- 0.14 (syst)) % . Observation of the rare decay B0→KS0K±π∓
We report an analysis of charmless hadronic decays of neutral B mesons to the final state (KSK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+), using a data sample of (465 +/- 5) x 10(6) B (B) over bar events collected with the BABAR detector at the Gamma(4S) resonance. We observe an excess of signal events with a significance of 5.2 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties and measure the branching fraction to be B(B-0 -> (KSK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+) (3.2 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.3) x 10(-6), where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.
Analysis of theD+→K−π+e+νedecay channel
Using 347.5 fb^(-1) of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II electron-positron collider, 244×10^3 signal events for the D^+ → K^-π^+e^+ν_e decay channel are analyzed. This decay mode is dominated by the K ^*(892)^0 contribution. We determine the K ^*(892)^0 parameters: m_(K^*(892)^0)=(895.4±0.2±0.2) MeV/c^2, Γ_(K^*(892)^0)=(46.5±0.3±0.2) MeV/c^2, and the Blatt-Weisskopf parameter r_(BW) =2.1±0.5±0.5 (GeV/c)^-1, where the first uncertainty comes from statistics and the second from systematic uncertainties. Observation of directCPviolation in the measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angleγwithB±→D(*)K(*)±decays
We report the determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa CP-violating angle γ through the combination of various measurements involving B^± → DK^±, B^± → D^*K^±, and B^± → DK^(*±) decays performed by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II e^+e^- collider at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Using up to 474 million BB pairs, we obtain γ=(69_(-16)^(+17))° modulo 180°. The total uncertainty is dominated by the statistical component, with the experimental and amplitude-model systematic uncertainties amounting to ±4°. The corresponding two-standard-deviation region is 41° < γ < 102°. This result is inconsistent with γ=0 with a significance of 5.9 standard deviations.

Measurement of CP asymmetries in two-body B(s)0 -meson decays to charged pions and kaons
The time-dependent CP asymmetries in B0→π+π− and B0s→K+K− decays are measured using a data sample of p p collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb−1, collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The same data sample is used to measure the time-integrated CP asymmetries in B0→K+π− and B0s→π+K− decays. The results are Cπ+π−=−0.34±0.06±0.01, Sπ+π−=−0.63±0.05±0.01, CK+K−=0.20±0.06±0.02, SK+K−=0.18±0.06±0.02, AΔΓK+K−=−0.79±0.07±0.10, AB0CP=−0.084±0.004±0.003, and AB0sCP=0.213±0.015±0.007, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Evidence for CP violation is found in the B0s→K+K− decay for the first time.
Measurements of the Λb0→J/ψΛ decay amplitudes and the Λb0 polarisation in pp collisions at s=7 TeV
An angular analysis of Λ0b→J/ψΛ decays is performed using a data sample corresponding to 1.0 fb−1 collected in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV with the LHCb detector at the LHC. A parity violating asymmetry parameter characterising the Λ0b→J/ψΛ decay of 0.05±0.17±0.07 and a Λ0b transverse production polarisation of 0.06±0.07±0.02 are measured, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
Search for a light Higgs boson decaying to two gluons orss¯in the radiative decays ofΥ(1S)
We search for the decay Υ(1S)→γA^0, A^0→gg or ss , where A^0 is the pseudoscalar light Higgs boson predicted by the next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model. We use a sample of (17.6±0.3)×10^6 Υ(1S) mesons produced in the BABAR experiment via e^+e^-→Υ(2S)→π^+π^-Υ(1S). We see no significant signal and set 90%-confidence-level upper limits on the product branching fraction B(Υ(1S)→γA^0)·B(A^0→gg or ss) ranging from 10^(-6) to 10^(-2) for A^0 masses in the range 0.5–9.0 GeV/c^2.
Searches for the baryon- and lepton-number violating decaysB0→Λc+l−,B−→Λl−, andB−→Λ¯l−
Searches for $B$ mesons decaying to final states containing a baryon and a lepton are performed, where the baryon is either $\Lambda_c$ or $\Lambda$ and the lepton is a muon or an electron. These decays violate both baryon and lepton number and would be a signature of physics beyond the standard model. No significant signal is observed in any of the decay modes, and upper limits in the range $(3.2-520) \times 10^{-8}$ are set on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level.
Search for a light Higgs resonance in radiative decays of theϒ(1S)with a charm tag
A search is presented for the decay Υ(1S)→ γA^0, A^0 → cc[bar], where A^0 is a candidate for the CP-odd Higgs boson of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. The search is based on data collected with the BABAR detector at the Υ(2S) resonance. A sample of Υ(1S) mesons is selected via the decay Υ(2S)→π + π − Υ(1S). The A^0 → cc[bar] decay is identified through the reconstruction of hadronic D^0, D^+, and D^∗ (2010)^+ meson decays. No significant signal is observed. The measured 90% confidence-level upper limits on the product branching fraction B(Υ(1S) → γA^0 ) × B(A^0 → cc[bar] ) range from 7.4×10^(−5) to 2.4×10^(−3) for A^0 masses from 4.00 to 8.95 GeV/c^2 and 9.10 to 9.25 Ge…
Measurement of the branching fraction of the decay Bs0→KS0KS0
A measurement of the branching fraction of the decay Bs0→KS0KS0 is performed using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb-1 collected by the LHCb experiment between 2011 and 2016. The branching fraction is determined to be B(Bs0→KS0KS0)=[8.3±1.6(stat)±0.9(syst)±0.8(norm)±0.3(fs/fd)]×10-6, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third and fourth are due to uncertainties on the branching fraction of the normalization mode B0→φKS0 and the ratio of hadronization fractions fs/fd. Evidence for the decayX(3872)→J/ψω
We present a study of the decays B^(0,+)→J/ψπ^+π^-π^0K^(0,+), using 467×10^6 BB[overbar] pairs recorded with the BABAR detector. We present evidence for the decay mode X(3872)→J/ψω, with product branching fractions B(B^+→X(3872)K^+)×B(X(3872)→J/ψω)=[0.6±0.2(stat)±0.1(syst)]×10^(-5), and B(B^0→X(3872)K^0)×B(X(3872)→J/ψω)=[0.6±0.3(stat)±0.1(syst)]×10^(-5). A detailed study of the π^+π^-π^0 mass distribution from X(3872) decay favors a negative-parity assignment.
Measurement of partial branching fractions of inclusive charmlessBmeson decays toK+,K0, andπ+
We present measurements of partial branching fractions of B→K+X, B→K0X, and B→π+X, where X denotes any accessible final state above the endpoint for B decays to charmed mesons, specifically for momenta of the candidate hadron greater than 2.34 (2.36) GeV for kaons (pions) in the B rest frame. These measurements are sensitive to potential new-physics particles which could enter the b→s(d) loop transitions. The analysis is performed on a data sample consisting of 383×106BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- asymmetric energy collider. Quantum numbers of theX(3872)state and orbital angular momentum in itsρ0J/ψdecay
Angular correlations in B+→X(3872)K+ decays, with X(3872)→ρ0J/ψ, ρ0→π+π− and J/ψ→μ+μ−, are used to measure orbital angular momentum contributions and to determine the JPC value of the X(3872) meson. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector. This determination, for the first time performed without assuming a value for the orbital angular momentum, confirms the quantum numbers to be JPC=1++. The X(3872) is found to decay predominantly through S wave and an upper limit of 4% at 95% C.L. is set on the fraction of D wave.
Precise Measurement of thee+e−→π+π−(γ)Cross Section with the Initial State Radiation Method atBABAR
A precise measurement of the cross section for the process e^+e^- → K^+K^-(γ) from threshold to an energy of 5 GeV is obtained with the initial-state radiation (ISR) method using 232 fb^(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at e^+e^- center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV. The measurement uses the effective ISR luminosity determined from the e^+e^- → μ^+μ^-(γ)γ_(ISR) process with the same data set. The corresponding lowest-order contribution to the hadronic vacuum polarization term in the muon magnetic anomaly is found to be a_μ^(KK,LO)=(22.93 ± 0.18_(stat) ± 0.22_(syst))×10^(-10). Search for Invisible Decays of theΥ(1S)
We search for invisible decays of the Upsilon(1S) meson using a sample of 91.4 x 10(6) Upsilon(3S) mesons collected at the BABAR/PEP-II B factory. We select events containing the decay Upsilon(3S) --> pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(1S) and search for evidence of an undetectable Upsilon(1S) decay recoiling against the dipion system. We set an upper limit on the branching fraction B(Upsilon(1S) --> invisible) < 3.0 x 10(-4) at the 90% confidence level.
Dalitz plot analysis ofηc→K+K−ηandηc→K+K−π0in two-photon interactions
We study the processes γγ→K+K−η and γγ→K+K−π0 using a data sample of 519 fb−1 recorded with the BABAR detector operating at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e− collider at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(nS) (n=2,3,4) resonances. We observe ηc→K+K−π0 and ηc→K+K−η decays, measure their relative branching fraction, and perform a Dalitz plot analysis for each decay. We observe the K∗0(1430)→Kη decay and measure its branching fraction relative to the Kπ decay mode to be R(K∗0(1430))=B(K∗0(1430)→Kη)B(K∗0(1430)→Kπ)=0.092±0.025+0.010−0.025. Cross sections for the reactionse+e−→K+K−π+π−,K+K−π0π0, andK+K−K+K−measured using initial-state radiation events
We study the processes e^+e^- → K^+K^-π^+π^-γ, K^+K^-π^0π^0 γ, and K^+K^-K^+K^- γ, where the photon is radiated from the initial state. About 84 000, 8000, and 4200 fully reconstructed events, respectively, are selected from 454 fb^(-1) of BABAR data. The invariant mass of the hadronic final state defines the e+e- center-of-mass energy, so that the K^+K^-π^+π^- γ data can be compared with direct measurements of the e^+e^- → K^+K^-π^+π^- reaction. No direct measurements exist for the e^+e^- → K^+K^-π^0π^0 or e^+e^- → K^+K^-K^+K^- reactions, and we present an update of our previous result based on a data sample that is twice as large. Observation of Photon Polarization in theb→sγTransition
This Letter presents a study of the flavor-changing neutral current radiative $B^{\pm} \to K^{\pm}\pi^{\mp}\pi^{\pm}\gamma$ decays performed using data collected in proton-proton collisions with the LHCb detector at $7$ and $8\,$TeV center-of-mass energies. In this sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3\,\text{fb}^{-1}$, nearly $14\,000$ signal events are reconstructed and selected, containing all possible intermediate resonances with a $K^{\pm}\pi^{\mp}\pi^{\pm}$ final state in the $[1.1, 1.9]\,$GeV/$c^{2}$ mass range. Measurements ofCPviolation in the three-body phase space of charmlessB±decays
The charmless three-body decay modes B±→K±π+π−, B±→K±K+K−, B±→π±K+K− and B±→π±π+π− are reconstructed using data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb−1, collected by the LHCb detector. The inclusive CP asymmetries of these modes are measured to be ACP(B±→K±π+π−)=+0.025±0.004±0.004±0.007,ACP(B±→K±K+K−)=−0.036±0.004±0.002±0.007,ACP(B±→π±π+π−)=+0.058±0.008±0.009±0.007,ACP(B±→π±K+K−)=−0.123±0.017±0.012±0.007, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is due to the CP asymmetry of the B±→J/ψK± reference mode. Measurement of the c0 Baryon Lifetime
We report a measurement of the lifetime of the $��_c^0$ baryon using proton-proton collision data at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8~TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment. The sample consists of about 1000 $��_b^-\to��_c^0��^-\bar��_�� X$ signal decays, where the $��_c^0$ baryon is detected in the $pK^-K^-��^+$ final state and $X$ represents possible additional undetected particles in the decay. The $��_c^0$ lifetime is measured to be $��_{��_c^0} = 268\pm24\pm10\pm2$ fs, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and from the uncertainty in the $D^+$ lifetime, respectively. Observation and study of the baryonicB-meson decaysB→D(*)pp¯(π)(π)
We present results for B-meson decay modes involving a charm meson, protons, and pions using 455×106 BB pairs recorded by the BaBar detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider. The branching fractions are measured for the following ten decays: B ^0→D^0pp, B^0→D^(*0)pp, B^0→D^(*+)ppπ^-, B^0→D^(*+)ppπ^-, B-→D0ppπ^-, B-→D^(*0)ppπ^-, B^0→D^0pp π^-π^+, B^0→D^(*0)pp π^-π^+, B^-→D^+pp π^-π^-, and B^-→D^(*+)pp π^-π^-. Study ofCPviolation inB∓→Dh∓(h=K,π) with the modesD→K∓π±π0,D→π+π−π0andD→K+K−π0
An analysis of the decays of B--/+ -> DK -/+ and B--/+ -> D pi(-/+) is presented in which the D meson is reconstructed in the three-body final states K--/+pi(+/-)pi(0), pi(+)pi(-)pi(0) and K+K-pi(0). Using data from LHCb corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collisions, measurements of several CP observables are performed. First observations are obtained of the suppressed Atwood-Dunietz-Soni decay B--/+ -> [pi K-+(+/-)pi(0)](D)pi(-/+) and the quasi-Gronau-London-Wyler decay B--/+ -> [K+K-pi(0)](D)pi(-/+). The results are interpreted in the context of the unitarity triangle angle gamma and related parameters.
Studies ofτ−→ηK−ντandτ−→ηπ−ντatBABARand a search for a second-class current
We report on analyses of tau lepton decays τ-→ηK-ντ and τ-→ηπ-ντ, with η→π+π-π0, using 470 fb-1 of data from the BABAR experiment at PEP-II, collected at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure the branching fraction for the τ-→ηK-ντ decay mode, B(τ-→ηK-ντ)=(1.42±0.11(stat)±0.07(syst))×10-4, and report a 95% confidence level upper limit for the second-class current process τ-→ηπ-ντ, B(τ-→ηπ-ντ)<9.9×10-5.
Precision Measurement of the Mass and Lifetime of the Ξ[0 over b] Baryon
Using a proton-proton collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$ collected by LHCb at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, about 3800 $\Xi_b^0\to\Xi_c^+\pi^-$, $\Xi_c^+\to pK^-\pi^+$ signal decays are reconstructed. From this sample, the first measurement of the $\Xi_b^0$ baryon lifetime is made, relative to that of the $\Lambda_b^0$ baryon. The mass differences $M(\Xi_b^0)-M(\Lambda_b^0)$ and $M(\Xi_c^+)-M(\Lambda_c^+)$ are also measured with precision more than four times better than the current world averages. First measurement of the charge asymmetry in beauty-quark pair production.
The difference in the angular distributions between beauty quarks and antiquarks, referred to as the charge asymmetry, is measured for the first time in b[bar over b] pair production at a hadron collider. The data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb[superscript −1] collected at 7 TeV center-of-mass energy in proton-proton collisions with the LHCb detector. The measurement is performed in three regions of the invariant mass of the b[bar over b] system. Search for directCPviolation in singly Cabibbo-suppressedD±→K+K−π±decays
We report on a search for direct CP violation in the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D^+→K^+K^-π^+ using a data sample of 476 fb^(-1) of e^+e^- annihilation data accumulated with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II electron-positron collider, running at and just below the energy of the Υ(4S) resonance. The integrated CP-violating decay rate asymmetry A_(CP) is determined to be (0.37±0.30±0.15)%. Model-independent and model-dependent Dalitz plot analysis techniques are used to search for CP-violating asymmetries in the various intermediate states. We find no evidence for CP-violation asymmetry.
First Observation ofCPViolation inB¯0→DCP(*)h0Decays by a Combined Time-Dependent Analysis ofBABARand Belle Data
We report a measurement of the time-dependent CP asymmetry of B0->D(*)CP h0 decays, where the light neutral hadron h0 is a pi0, eta or omega meson, and the neutral D meson is reconstructed in the CP eigenstates K+ K-, K0S pi0 or K0S omega. Amplitude analysis ofB+→J/ψϕK+decays
The first full amplitude analysis of B+→J/ψϕK+ with J/ψ→μ+μ−, ϕ→K+K− decays is performed with a data sample of 3 fb−1 of pp collision data collected at s√=7 and 8 TeV with the LHCb detector. The data cannot be described by a model that contains only excited kaon states decaying into ϕK+, and four J/ψϕ structures are observed, each with significance over 5 standard deviations. The quantum numbers of these structures are determined with significance of at least 4 standard deviations. The lightest is best described as a D±sD∗∓s cusp, but a resonant interpretation is also possible with mass consistent with, but width much larger than, previous measurements of the claimed X(4140) state. Observation of inclusiveD*±production in the decay ofΥ(1S)
We present a study of the inclusive D*(+/-) production in the decay of Y(1S) using (98.6 +/- 0.9) X 10(6) Y(2S) mesons collected with the BABAR detector at the Y(2S) resonance. Using the decay chain Y(2S) -> pi(+)pi Y-(1S), Y(1S) -> D*X-+/-, where X is unobserved, we measure the branching fraction B[Y(1S) -> D*X-+/-] = (2.52 +/- 0.13(stat) +/- 0.15(syst)% and the D*(+/-) momentum distribution in the rest frame of the Y(1S). We find evidence for an excess of D*+/- production over the expected rate from the virtual photon annihilation process Y(1S) -> gamma* -> c (c) over bar -> D*X-+/-.
Branching fraction measurement ofB+→ωℓ+νdecays
We present a measurement of the B^+ → ωl^+ν branching fraction based on a sample of 467 million BB pairs recorded by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e+e- collider. We observe 1125±131 signal decays, corresponding to a branching fraction of B(B^+ → ωl^+ν)=(1.21±0.14±0.08)×10^(-4), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The dependence of the decay rate on q^2, the invariant mass squared of the leptons, is compared to QCD predictions of the form factors based on a quark model and light-cone sum rules.
Constraints on the unitarity triangle angleγfrom Dalitz plot analysis ofB0→DK+π−decays
The first study is presented of CP violation with an amplitude analysis of the Dalitz plot of B0→DK+π- decays, with D→K+π-, K+K-, and π+π-. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb-1 of pp collisions collected with the LHCb detector. No significant CP violation effect is seen, and constraints are placed on the angle γ of the unitarity triangle formed from elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix. Hadronic parameters associated with the B0→DK∗(892)0 decay are determined for the first time. These measurements can be used to improve the sensitivity to γ of existing and future studies of the B0→DK∗(892)0 decay.
Measurement of the Difference of Time-IntegratedCPAsymmetries inD0→K−K+andD0→π−π+Decays

Search for the decayB¯0→Λc+p¯pp¯
We report a search for the decay B^0 → Λ^+_cppp. Using a data sample of 471×10^6 BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II2 storage ring at SLAC, we find no events and set an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B^0 → Λ^+_cppp)×^(B(Λ^+_c→pK^−π^+))_(0.050) <2.8×10^(−6) at 90% C.L., where we have normalized B(Λ^+_c → pK^−π^+) to the world average value.

The Dalitz plot analysis technique is used to study the resonant substructures of $B^{-} \to D^{+} \pi^{-} \pi^{-}$ decays in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. A model-independent analysis of the angular moments demonstrates the presence of resonances with spins 1, 2 and 3 at high $D^{+}\pi^{-}$ mass. We analyze the decay B0-->K+ pi- pi0 with a sample of 454 million B Bbar events collected by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC, and extract the complex amplitudes of seven interfering resonances over the Dalitz plot. Time-integrated luminosity recorded by the BABARdetector at the PEP-IIe+e- collider
We describe a measurement of the time-integrated luminosity of the data collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider at the ϒ(4S), ϒ(3S), and ϒ(2S) resonances and in a continuum region below each resonance. We measure the time-integrated luminosity by counting e^+e^-→e^+e^- and (for the ϒ(4S) only) e^+e^-→μ^+μ^- candidate events, allowing additional photons in the final state. We use data-corrected simulation to determine the cross-sections and reconstruction efficiencies for these processes, as well as the major backgrounds. Observation of the Resonant Character of theZ(4430)−State
Resonant structures in B-0 -> psi'pi K--(+) decays are analyzed by performing a four-dimensional fit of the decay amplitude, using pp collision data corresponding to 3 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. The data cannot be described with K+pi(-) resonances alone, which is confirmed with a model-independent approach. A highly significant Z(4430)(-) -> psi'pi(-) component is required, thus confirming the existence of this state. The observed evolution of the Z(4430)(-) amplitude with the psi'pi(-) mass establishes the resonant nature of this particle. The mass and width measurements are substantially improved. The spin parity is determined unambiguously to be 1(+).
Observation of Bc+→J/ψD(*)K(*) decays
A search for the decays B + c → J / ψ D ( * ) 0 K + and B + c → J / ψ D ( * ) + K * 0 is performed with data collected at the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb − 1 . The decays B + c → J / ψ D 0 K + and B + c → J / ψ D * 0 K + are observed for the first time, while first evidence is reported for the B + c → J / ψ D * + K * 0 and B + c → J / ψ D + K * 0 decays. The branching fractions of these decays are determined relative to the B + c → J / ψ π + decay. The B + c mass is measured, using the J / ψ D 0 K + final state, to be 6274.28 ± 1.40 ( stat ) ± 0.32 ( syst ) MeV / c 2 . This is the most precise single measurement of the B + c mass to date.
Study ofX(3915)→J/ψωin two-photon collisions
We study the process $\gamma \gamma \to J/\psi \omega$ using a data sample of 519.2 $fb^{-1}$ recorded by the BaBar detector at SLAC at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider at center-of-mass energies near the $\Upsilon(nS)$ ($n = 2,3,4$) resonances. Branching fraction and form-factor shape measurements of exclusive charmless semileptonicBdecays, and determination of|Vub|
We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B0→π-l+ν, B+→π0l+ν, B+→ωl+ν, B+→ηl+ν, and B+→η′l+ν (l=e or μ) undertaken with approximately 462×106 BB pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions in several bins of q2, the square of the momentum transferred to the lepton-neutrino pair, for B0→π-l+ν, B+→π0l+ν, B+→ωl+ν, and B+→ηl+ν. Measurement of the branching fraction andΛ¯polarization inB0→Λ¯pπ−
We present a measurement of the B0 --> Lambda-bar p pi- branching fraction performed using the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric e+e- collider. Based on a sample of 467 million BB-bar pairs we measure B(B0 --> Lambda-bar p pi-) = [3.07 pm 0.31 (stat.) pm 0.23 (syst.)] x 10^{-6}. The measured differential spectrum as a function of the dibaryon invariant mass m(Lambda p) shows a near-threshold enhancement similar to that observed in other baryonic B decays. We study the Lambda-bar polarization as a function of Lambda-bar energy in the B0 rest frame (E*_Lambda) and compare it with theoretical expectations of fully longitudinally right-polarized Lambda-bar at large E*_Lambda.
Study of J/ψ Production in Jets
The production of $J/\psi$ mesons in jets is studied in the forward region of proton-proton collisions using data collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The fraction of the jet transverse momentum carried by the $J/\psi$ meson, $z \equiv p_{\rm T}(J/\psi)/p_{\rm T}({\rm jet})$, is measured using jets with $p_{\rm T}({\rm jet}) > 20$ GeV in the pseudorapidity range $2.5 < \eta({\rm jet}) < 4.0$. The observed $z$ distribution for $J/\psi$ mesons produced in $b$-hadron decays is consistent with expectations. The first measurement that relates semileptonic and hadronic decay rates of the B-c(+) meson is performed using proton-proton collision data corresponding to 1.0 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector. The measured value of the ratio of branching fractions, B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+))/B(B-c(+) -> J/psi mu(+)nu(mu)) = 0.0469 +/- 0.0028(stat) +/- 0.0046(syst), is at the lower end of available theoretical predictions.
Study ofCPAsymmetry inB0−B¯0Mixing with Inclusive Dilepton Events
We present a measurement of the asymmetry A_{CP} between same-sign inclusive dilepton samples l^{+}l^{+} and l^{-}l^{-} (l=e, μ) from semileptonic B decays in ϒ(4S)→BB[over ¯] events, using the complete data set recorded by the BABAR experiment near the ϒ(4S) resonance, corresponding to 471×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs. The asymmetry A_{CP} allows comparison between the mixing probabilities P(B[over ¯]^{0}→B^{0}) and P(B^{0}→B[over ¯]^{0}), and therefore probes CP and T violation. The result, A_{CP}=[-3.9±3.5(stat)±1.9(syst)]×10^{-3}, is consistent with the standard model expectation.

We find no evidence for these decays and place 90%-confidence-level upper limits on their branching fractions B(B +→π -e +e +)<2.3×10 -8, B(B +→K -e +e +)<3.0×10 -8, B(B +→π -μ +μ +)<10. 7×10 -8, and B(B +→K -μ +μ +)<6.7×10 -8. © 2012 American Physical Society.
Limits on tau lepton-flavor violating decays into three charged leptons
A search for the neutrinoless, lepton-flavor violating decay of the tau lepton into three charged leptons has been performed using an integrated luminosity of 468 fb(-1) collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider. In all six decay modes considered, the numbers of events found in data are compatible with the background expectations. Upper limits on the branching fractions are set in the range (1.8-3.3) x 10(-8) at 90% confidence level.
Measurement of initial-state–final-state radiation interference in the processese+e−→μ+μ−γande+e−→π+π−γ
Charge asymmetry in processes e+ e- --> mu+ mu- gamma and e+ e- --> pi+ pi- gamma is measured using 232 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV. An observable is introduced and shown to be very robust against detector asymmetries while keeping a large sensitivity to the physical charge asymmetry that results from the interference between initial and final state radiation. The asymmetry is determined as afunction of the invariant mass of the final-state tracks from production threshold to a few GeV/c2. Observation of Two NewΞb−Baryon Resonances
Two structures are observed close to the kinematic threshold in the Ξb0π- mass spectrum in a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0fb-1, recorded by the LHCb experiment. In the quark model, two baryonic resonances with quark content bds are expected in this mass region: the spin-parity JP=(1/2)+ and JP=(3/2)+ states, denoted Ξb′- and Ξb∗-. Interpreting the structures as these resonances, we measure the mass differences and the width of the heavier state to be m(Ξb′-)-m(Ξb0)-m(π-)=3.653±0.018±0.006MeV/c2, m(Ξb∗-)-m(Ξb0)-m(π-)=23.96±0.12±0.06MeV/c2, Γ(Ξb∗-)=1.65±0.31±0.10MeV, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systema…
Measurements of charm mixing and CP violation using D0→K±π∓ decays
Measurements of charm mixing and CP violation parameters from the decay-time-dependent ratio of D0→K+π− to D0→K−π+ decay rates and the charge-conjugate ratio are reported. The analysis uses B¯¯¯¯→D∗+μ−X, and charge-conjugate decays, where D∗+→D0π+, and D0→K∓π±. The pp collision data are recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies s√ = 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb−1. Measurement of the effective Bs0→K+K− lifetime
A precise determination of the effective $B_s^0 \rightarrow K^+ K^-$ lifetime can be used to constrain contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model in the $B_s^0$ meson system. Conventional approaches select $B$ meson decay products that are significantly displaced from the $B$ meson production vertex. As a consequence, $B$ mesons with low decay times are suppressed, introducing a bias to the decay time spectrum which must be corrected. This analysis uses a technique that explicitly avoids a lifetime bias by using a neural network based trigger and event selection.
