A taxonomical study of the subtribe leontodontinae based on the distribution of phenolic compounds
Abstract Evaluation of the phenolic constituents of five species belonging to the subtribe Leontodontinae (family Asteraceae) allowed the identification of ten flavonoid and eight phenolic acids by means of HPLC and other standard methods. The role of these compounds in relation to the morphological characteristics in the systematics of the subtribe is discussed.

Summary The flowering and fruiting phenology and breeding system of Cistus albidus L. are studied. Four phases are established for the development of the flower, which remains open for a period of less than 14hrs, although this time—span can be further reduced if environmental conditions are unfavourable. Only 65.6 % flowers develop ripe fruits, the greatest losses occurring in the change from flower to unripe fruit. H is a xenogamous species with a PAD ratio of 5.426 ±816. Experimentally, fruits may be formed by autogamy through manual pollination, although this does not occur spontaneously. Seed morphology of Linaria species from eastern Spain: identification of species and taxonomic implications
Abstract Seed morphology of 15 taxa of Linaria from eastern Spain has been studied using stereoscopic and scanning electron microscopy. Four different morphological types are described according to features of the seed-coat surface. The type that includes winged seeded taxa is divided into three subtypes. Seed morphology of each type and subtype is described, compared, illustrated and discussed according to its taxonomic and biological implications. A key to identify the different species or groups of species is also supplied.
Taxonomic Study of Linaria depauperata and L. supina Complexes in Eastern Spain
Abstract Morphological characteristics were studied in two groups of closely related taxa of section Supinae , Linaria depauperata and L. supina , from eastern Spain. Vegetative, floral and seed characteristics were of little use in distinguishing between these taxa as the ranges for all the taxa studied overlapped. Flower colour could be used as a diagnostic character for some but not all of these taxa. Seed coat characters were of high taxonomic value, both when trying to distinguish among these two groups, and the taxa included within them, and also when establishing relationships among the taxa studied. The Plastidial Glyceraldehyde-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Is Critical for Viable Pollen Development in Arabidopsis
Plant metabolism is highly coordinated with development. However, an understanding of the whole picture of metabolism and its interactions with plant development is scarce. In this work, we show that the deficiency in the plastidial glycolytic glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPCp) leads to male sterility in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). Pollen from homozygous gapcp double mutant plants (gapcp1gapcp2) displayed shrunken and collapsed forms and were unable to germinate when cultured in vitro.
