On $p$-Dunford integrable functions with values in Banach spaces
[EN] Let (Omega, Sigma, mu) be a complete probability space, X a Banach space and 1 X. Special attention is paid to the compactness of the Dunford operator of f. We also study the p-Bochner integrability of the composition u o f: Omega->Y , where u is a p-summing operator from X to another Banach space Y . Finally, we also provide some tests of p-Dunford integrability by using w*-thick subsets of X¿.
The Bourgain property and convex hulls
Let (Ω, Σ, μ) be a complete probability space and let X be a Banach space. We consider the following problem: Given a function f: Ω X for which there is a norming set B ⊂ BX * such that Zf,B = {x * ○ f: x * ∈ B } is uniformly integrable and has the Bourgain property, does it follow that f is Birkhoff integrable? It turns out that this question is equivalent to the following one: Given a pointwise bounded family ℋ ⊂ ℝΩ with the Bourgain property, does its convex hull co(ℋ) have the Bourgain property? With the help of an example of D. H. Fremlin, we make clear that both questions have negative answer in general. We prove that a function f: Ω X is scalarly measurable provided that there is a n…
On the equivalence of McShane and Pettis integrability in non-separable Banach spaces
Abstract We show that McShane and Pettis integrability coincide for functions f : [ 0 , 1 ] → L 1 ( μ ) , where μ is any finite measure. On the other hand, assuming the Continuum Hypothesis, we prove that there exist a weakly Lindelof determined Banach space X, a scalarly null (hence Pettis integrable) function h : [ 0 , 1 ] → X and an absolutely summing operator u from X to another Banach space Y such that the composition u ○ h : [ 0 , 1 ] → Y is not Bochner integrable; in particular, h is not McShane integrable.
Measurable selectors and set-valued Pettis integral in non-separable Banach spaces
AbstractKuratowski and Ryll-Nardzewski's theorem about the existence of measurable selectors for multi-functions is one of the keystones for the study of set-valued integration; one of the drawbacks of this result is that separability is always required for the range space. In this paper we study Pettis integrability for multi-functions and we obtain a Kuratowski and Ryll-Nardzewski's type selection theorem without the requirement of separability for the range space. Being more precise, we show that any Pettis integrable multi-function F:Ω→cwk(X) defined in a complete finite measure space (Ω,Σ,μ) with values in the family cwk(X) of all non-empty convex weakly compact subsets of a general (n…
